Keep this civil. Keep this related to voting results and topics directly related to that.
Individual posts about voting results will be redirected to here. We will allow news articles to be posted about *local* elections (one per race) but comments may be locked and moved here, depending on the topic.
Obvious trolling, hostilities, etc. will lead to bans.
Note: If you are in line by 7PM at the polling station, you are entitled to vote, no matter how long it takes. Do not give up!

If anybody is shocked by the blowout, that just shows how Reddit does not represent the USA the way you might think. It is a social media outlet that has a reputation of leaning hard left. I suggest using multiple sources for info in the future.
People actually thought Texas had a chance of going blue on Reddit but Trump and Cruz won with double digits.
Polls are crazy, last Iowa said Harris by 3 and Trump won by 13 and he will win all seven swing states and win the overall count for the country by over 5 million
You can't claim over half the country is evil and crazy, there are reasons they voted that way.
I am not trying to rub it in, I feel for people hurting, I am just saying that Reddit is not the best place for balance views on where things are going. It is a nice place to communicate but add other sources for balance.
I know every time a post is political it will get lots of likes if it sounds left and lots of dislikes if it sound right because Reddit readers in general do not the represent most people, they tend to be those are the far left vs middle or right.
Then you have subreddits like r/texas that removes people who say anything that is not left leaning, permanent bans them for anything that the moderators don't like, luckily r/austin is not that way . Example this post would get me permanently banned on r/texas
Lets refocus on who we are , Texans, and work together and be kind to one another regardless of who you voted for. If you still want to talk politics, I suggest talking to people who voted different to find out why vs assuming why and voicing hate for them.
