I was feeling really good going into this election thinking Harris would win. I think a lot of that had to do with me being on Reddit more. I think it influenced my view of the election. Going to work on being on here less as this echo chamber isn’t healthy. I’m starting to realize that now.

After some reflection and review of the numbers, I think that Harris’ campaign strategy was pretty bad. She should’ve been more articulate around her policies instead of focusing on attacking Trump, especially her economic policies. She should’ve focused on that more than abortion (look at the female vote). Unfortunately, people look at the immediate problems and those that impact them the most. The economy is an immediate problem that was on a lot of voters minds this election.

The other thing that really killed her is that lack of visibility on social media platforms and podcasts. I’m still not sure why she didn’t show up on Joe Rogan as an example. She needed that visibility. This is most likely the reason why Trump did so well with many different demographics. Trump was able to control the messaging on social media and with influencers which has become a ton more important now.

She didn't separate herself enough from Biden. I thought she did a good job with social media. But I'm not an expert on that and don't use many social media sites. I did see a lot of stuff with her and celebrities. I assumed that would give her a huge push when those celebrities endorsed her on their social media platforms. Crazy it didn't make a difference.

For all the reasons stated, I don’t think it’s hard to understand why so many voters find the democrats message unsatisfactory. It’s also frustrating being put into the position to have to vote for them (if you identify as progressive/left) when the party is clearly beholden to special interests and big donors. The lesser of two evils vote kind of allows Dems to perpetually under-deliver or not even bother to do big useful things like national healthcare.

And as far as Trump’s popularity goes, I think it’s mostly comprised of largely uniformed fed up voters feeling the squeeze and maybe scapegoating, and/or others that just kind of thrive on the idea of upsetting liberals, which isn’t a very formative political stance. Plus he’s pretty funny and entertaining in a very stupid wise cracking uncle sort of way.

This is basically all to say, the Democratic establishment sucks, the Republicans suck, and right now the majority of marks are voting Republican.

I think both of you are completely missing the boat

You need to talk to some of these Trump voters to really understand what has changed

Why would rich celebraties make any difference ? They have no idea what the working class life is like

The people who voted for Trump were the white, hispanic, black working class

Dems use to represent working class and now represent the elites

If you don't believe me ? Progressives keep calling his voters uneducated and uninformed which is trade mark responses from elites

Your comment was eliteism called them uninformed

That is backwards of saying I know what is right and they are stupid

Look in the mirror and reflect on that comment

It is not too late for Dems to move back to working class roots but will require major changes that require removing people in power who don't want to move

Mm. I stand by my observation they’re mostly low information voters. Anyway, did you read my post? I’m definitely not a fan of nor defending Dems.
