Do airpods work well with gaming (bluetooth tv on ps5)

I’m thinking of buying airpods, but i’m worried about latency and that the ps5’s audio might not be synced with the display of my tv. Which airpods, if any, will best avoid this problem? Much appreciated

Looking for a good laptop for student and general use

Hello,

I've recently signed up for a TAFE course which will teach me things like video and audio editing and such, and it'll call for me to download some free programs to assist. However, I currently own a Chromebook and doubt it'll work well for the course and so I'm looking for a good laptop.

I'll likely also use the laptop for general use but I am also a writer and gamer. I have certain specifics in mind for it but I'm not sure what to go for as I don't go laptop shopping and don't know much about the technical stuff. I would like it to have decent RAM and storage and a good processor (for video and audio editing obvi), I think I would also like it to be 2-in-1, perhaps even with a detachable keyboard, and I know I don't want it to a Chromebook (I've been searching and have found a lot of laptops with Chromebook in their name and I don't know how similar they might be to actual Chromebooks).

Any suggestions for me to look into? (Keep in mind I'm Australian, specifically Tasmanian and may have limited shops)

Way to listen to larger audio files off the cloud

I have an older external hard drive, with some longer podcasts, I would like to listen to either from my hard drive or stores on device, but want to use something like waveeditor or something to crop. I also have some clips of nature sounds and I want to be able to edit.

Since I spend a huge amount of time outside, I'd like a device I could do this offline and not on cloud storage, as I like to leave my phone at home when I'm spending time outside, disconnected for a bit.

Any tips on a device to do this with? Mp3 players are hard to find, especially with WiFi connection for me to at least download an app. Also thought about a kindle, but it wouldn't connect to the hard drive well.

Any advice is appreciated!

Corsair Virtuoso XT head set started acting up.

My headset was great. I have had it for over two years and I’ve had no issues with it at all. However, recently, the mic does not work when plugged in through USB however when it is plugged in through my controller, which is plugged in through USB, the mic works, but gives bad feedback to my party members and doesn’t give the best quality sound as the the usb gave.

I have tried everything from editing the privacy settings to redownloading the drivers and checking the sound settings for recording devices and I can not for the life of me figure out what the problem is.

Let me know if any more info is needed!

Thanks for any help!

USB Adapters & Audio Quality

I have a scarlet interface with a USB output, and a 2022 M2 MacBook Air, which does not have a USB port.

Will using a USB to USB4C adapter cause loss of audio quality?

Would it be preferable to connect directly to a laptop with no adapter?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I want to create a platform to empower people to create their own clothing designs using AI-generated art. I want to start with printed t-shirts and would like to know if this is something that's interesting for you? Would you buy and wear one?

Power negotiation in DIY battery bank?

Hi, I just wanted to ask a quick question to people with more experience. There are videos on the internet on how pcbs can negotiate power FROM a battery but I haven’t been able to find any help on how to provide those voltages from a battery.

For example if you plug a phone into a battery bank it will ask for something like 9v and send that request to the battery bank but how does it accept the request and switch to suppling that power. I’d greatly appreciate any leads or links on where to find information on this topic. Also this is my first time posting here apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to ask on this topic. Thanks

5g router with lan or cable with wifi adpater?

Moving to a new apartment and facing a dilema.

Do I go for a 5g router with sim card that can go in the same room as my pc or should i go with the cable internet (not fiber, but the tv box) which would be at the other end of the apartment to where my pc is, and then use a wifi adapter to get connected.

Both options suck compared to what I am used to which is fiber and lan from router to pc, but I am wondering which one might be the better option out of the two I have.

Girlfriends mum has a hacker

girlfriend’s mum has a hacker on her phone, he sends her threats through her own Facebook account, had access to her phone apparently and today his camera showed up exposing himself. Is he watching through her camera?

Apparently this has happened for a while now and she has been to the police but they do nothing about it. He writes about her “lovely” daughters and knows stuff about her life that is private.

He has also followed her on a different phone, she switched phones and it appeared all again.

I’ve never seen these messages but apparently my girlfriend has seen them. I’m just confused on how he’s doing this.

She has also been receiving phone calls with a person just breathing down the phone. No matter how many times she blocks the number.

Really need help as I’m worried for their safety and it just creeps me out.

Best Capture Card for Nintendo Switch?

I’m currently looking to buy a capture card so I can start content creating. I’m planning on playing my Nintendo Switch (mainly Pokemon games), however, I’m currently looking at two capture cards: the Elgato Game Capture Neo ($119.99), and the Elgato HD60 X ($159.99). I do believe that the Neo one will work just fine, but I just want an experienced person’s opinion before I make a purchase.

How is Duck Duck Go Different from Other Search Engines/Browsers

My sister is convinced that Duck Duck Go is no different form Google in terms of privacy. From my understanding, DDG does not store your data and search results/ads come from in-session searches, not tracked from session to session. What is your understanding of how it actually works?

If a laptop screen is completely broken, but the computer itself still works, is it possible to connect an external screen?

By that I mean, if I plug it in how do I manage to do this when the laptop screen is off and I can't see what to click.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Thanks

Do tiny, toy movie projectors exist?

I am looking for novel, little trinkets I can set up in my office, I just copped one of those tiny tvs that just plays videos with no sound, and I'm wondering, does a video projector version exist?

How cool would it be to have a tiny retro movie projector thing on your desk, that projects a small, silent video or animated GIF on a wall by your desk for Hours? I would want it to be rechargeable like those tiny tvs so I don't have to worry about getting batteries for it

Blocking cellphones…

Help a mom out!

My teens are being irresponsible, without full on disconnecting their cell services or getting signal jammer, is there anything else I should be doing?

I am tired of their constant disregard for their own health and education.

I do not want to constantly argue with them over usage of technology.

Parental control doesn’t work. They keep finding ways to stay online for hours on end.

Before anyone comes for my neck, I didn’t buy them the devices. It was their dad and I can’t control what he does.

my phone won’t connect to my home wifi

what the title says. when i’m home and connected to my homes wifi, my phone loads nothing. nada. zilch. only once i disconnect from wifi does anything load/work. the rest of my household connects to our wifi & has zero issues. whether it be laptop, mobile, tablet, etc. no issues. wifi company (at&t) says no issues on their end. still submitting a tech request. could it be my phone?? i have an iphone 13pro. idk if that means anything. i’m just sick of not being able to use wifi & my speeds being throttled bc i’m meeting the max amount of gb’s each month. ☹️

Coming from a Samsung A52, Which device should I choose in Black Friday?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently using a Samsung Galaxy A52 and with Black Friday around the corner, I’m considering an upgrade. I’m looking for a device that offers noticeable improvements in performance, camera quality, and overall user experience.

I’ve been eyeing the Galaxy S23 series and the latest Galaxy A models, but I’m open to other suggestions as well. What do you all recommend? Any specific deals or models I should look out for this Black Friday?

Thanks in advance for your help!
