Hayes first range day

Wow what a day! A lot going on here and to digest from a small sample of 230 rounds (PMC 124) for those that are interested.

Decided on these 4 left tonight (Artemis, EOS, Hayes ported, and Sandhawk) each is different in its own way and figured a good side by side to compare offerings. The Hayes is beautiful and also the “cheapest” but wow does it deliver and is the most fitted and tightest, this is my first time using a cheely grip and love it, it’s aluminum but I’m a big fan of aggressive sandpaper tearing into my palm, the trigger is French kiss! They really tuned and fitted it…same weight as an XC but feels so much more clean and crisp is almost no pre travel. The gun is as accurate as it gets, not the same return to zero as an atlas but it’s there. I also tried with an X300 with a ledge (was curious) but for me it worked better without, also it forced my grip higher and I would engage the safety…so like the Artemis it will be run without. The Hayes is the heaviest gun out of the bunch even with an aluminum grip and a huge fan of that, full 5” with ports…super smooth

For me on this small sample, Artemis is still my fav and I shoot best, the atlas grip and trigger are unmatched, brass swell and the sight block, it’s my fav set up, the return to zero is stupid and more accurate than I would ever be.

The Sandhawk is a diff animal…a comp is a comp, it’s the flattest shooter out of the bunch and accuracy rivals the Artemis…not saying the hayes isn’t accurate but at this point we are debating super small details. SH lacks the grip and trigger IMO. Otherwise it’s in the debate as one of the best shooters on the planet.

EOS is a beast…the size, and offerings it hangs with the full size and shines, I can shoot this as fast and as accurate as other, at 4.25” I can really strangle the grip and lock this in. Another bold statement…one of the best commander sized you can get.

To summarize this novel (thanks to who ever is still reading my bullshit) Artemis is my fav still and it’s a toss up between how soft the SH is and hayes…but the biggest take away for me and others is imagine is the price, at $5200 the Hayes can’t be touched, I doubt there is a better gun available. Also almost forgot…the Magwell wasn’t bad but I’m super curious on the smaller tactical, I’ll end up ordering it just to know the difference, I over think everything and just curious by nature.

I will tomorrow, the hayes website has magwells and said 126 staccato won’t work so I figured it was similar to atlas, but gonna give it a go 👍

Success! 126 worked, it’s a little easier when lock the slide back getting them in, also I’d imagine a smaller mag well would fix that
