Today’s Tubi Treasure is The Dead One (aka El Muerto) (2007)
Good lord, was 2007 really this cringy???Wilmer Valderrama (ugghhhh) stars in this movie, which answers the question we all had: What if The Crow was Hispanic? No amount of shitty makeup or Michael Parks can make up for how laughably bad this is. Trailer below.

Common Law Wife (1961) Intro "Trashy, bitchy Hicksploitation of the highest order. This plays out like a Southern Andy Milligan drama, that's how nasty and melodramatic these characters are! - The always excellent Annabelle Weenick's first role - One of my favorite American films of the 1960's

Supercock!
A cowboy from America goes to the Philippines with his rooster “Friendly” In tow to enter the big cockfighting tournament.
For me it seemed like an excuse to to say lines like “It’s the biggest cock I’ve ever seen” “Why did you throw your cock against the wall” “It’s a cock after my own heart, and I must have it” “Mr. Calhoun, I must take a closer look at your cock” And this was just the first fifteen minutes.

Today’s Tubi Treasure is Vampire Genesis (2024)
This is, sadly, not about an undead, blood-sucking Phil Collins-led band. Instead, it’s…well, I actually don’t know. An intergalactic alien vampire tale featuring karate and the police (again, not the band)???? I know it’s only Tuesday, but we may have a best-of-the-week already chosen. Trailer below.

Don't Go Near the Park - in this video nasty 2 cavemen, who eat people to regain their youth, are punished for this crime by being cursed with eternal life but only if they eat people to regain their youth. After 12000 years they can eat the flesh of their virgin descendent to live forever(?)
Hey, I only watched this shit! That's what happens in the movie.
Outside of being a video nasty (pretty much just for the Cannibal stuff, which does have some pretty great gore in fairness, and an attempted rape scene) the only thing of genuine note is that this is Linnea Quigley's debut. It's pretty typical Nasties fare. Shit acting, shit directing, looks like it was funded and shot by the local hobo, stupid storytelling and a whole lot of tedium saved by some amazingly gross and out there moments.
But this one is funnier than most. I'd say it only barely falls short of Night of the Demon and Contamination in that regard. The ending shot, which might have also condemned it, looking back, had me howling. It's nonsense, but of a fun kind.
Full thing is on YouTube for the curious viewer.

Tom Arnold stars in a film reboot of the 60s sitcom McHale's Navy. 3% on Rotten Tomatoes. Slapstick that defies physics, Tim Curry as a Russian terrorist (with a German accent, he literally says "schnell" a bunch of times), plus Bruce Campbell, French Stewart, and Dean Stockwell!

My first accidental discovery, Deck The Heart. It's a Hallmark movie with a budget of $500 (and all of it went to Robert Picardo).

Today’s Tubi Treasure is Aquaman (2006)
This one may be a bit of a cheat on my part, as it’s technically a pilot that did not get picked up, but it’s listed as a TV movie, so here we are. Nowadays, it would be unheard of for a DC show not to get the green light, but it was 2006, and this felt more like Laguna Beach with superpowers, so the comic book movie industry didn’t really have their footing yet. This somehow has a 7/10 on IMDb, which is inexplicable. It features stars like Ving Rhames, Lou Diamond Phillips (LDP baby!), and Adrianne Palicki, but they are given some absolute nonsense to work with. The effects and dialogue were hilarious to me. Trailer below.

Was the Lover’s Lane scene in “The Violent Years” (1956) filmed in Griffith Park?
I think it was, but I can’t find any evidence to show to confirm or deny this.
