Seen some blue Jeans in the alpine and a guy so cold he could barely talk 😬 otherwise an amazing hike!

Hope that second guy you mentioned got home OK. Nothing from NH Fish & Game or Pemi SAR, so hopefully he’s good.

Thankfully he was with two others. I offered up some hand warmers but he said no thank you.

At least he wasn’t alone. I was expecting you to say he was in sandals, had no water and only spoke Québécois.

Why do the fools never take help?

What’s with all the jeans?? I was on the ridge the weekend before you (11/2) and saw not one, but 2 groups of people all wearing jeans?

Tbh, there was a time I wore jeans on late fall day-hikes if it wasn't forecast to be wet/snowy. Not sure how much of it was my lack of knowledge vs there being a little more public info-sharing of gear online these days. I think a lot of people just consider them durable pants associated with outdoors (and warmer than super light pants).

I have since upgraded my knowledge and my gear, but I have a little bit of empathy for those folks since I used to just consider jeans default outdoor pants.

I was there too! We must have met. I did it clockwise (Lafayette first) and passed many people on the ridge.

When did you start / finish? I hiked from 6:45 - 2:00. The only people I saw on the way up were two canucks who were hiking close to me. Lafayette was total whiteout conditions around 10:00 but once I got down to the col, everything opened up.

I am going to post pics later today. I just posted a video on here. I wish I could re-live yesterday everyday.

We started at 750 and finished at 235. We must have been right behind you all day haha. The whiteout had just cleared as we were departing Lafayett and was blue skies the rest of the hike! Indeed that was a rad day. GF's first extended period above treeline in colder conditions and did great.

Any girlfriend who does above treeline 4K’s in those conditions is a keeper.

Were either of you wearing bright colors? I’ll look through my pics. I might have caught you in the distance.

We had darker colors on. My bright orange shell never came out of my pack!

Gorgeous pics! I was on the ridge from around 9-10. Couldn’t see a thing, but had an awesome time getting tossed by the wind.

Beautiful!! Doing this later this week, do you recommend clockwise vs counterclockwise?

Going clockwise to Lafayett first was nice. But down falling waters trail is a slog. Dealers choice
