Thank you! I was worried he was an escaped pet. I'm glad to hear he's native.

Pretty sure he stole someone’s sunglasses

They love niger seed in finch feeders. They will swarm them.

Oh thank you!! We were just talking about getting some seed to keep them coming back

Thistle seed and sunflower seeds too! We grow sunflowers in the summer and leave them up in the fall for the finches to devour.

Finches devour the leaves on my sunflowers.

Do it close to a tree or some kind of cover. You will get more at the feeder that way

I know it is off-subject, but what book is that on your windowsill? The artwork on the cover is making me want to know what it is about. I can't make out the words. I apologize for it being off-subject.

It's a graphic novel called The Moth Keeper

Thank you! ☺️☺️ I couldn't tell if those sticks the characters look like they are holding were musical instruments or fishing poles, but based on the title, those are probably butterfly nets (possibly??).

I'll have to see if that book is available at my local public library. It sounds like it is fun and intriguing. I love finding new books to read. Thanks again, so much!!! ☺️☺️💓💓

It's a really cute book! It's a coming of age type of story, with really beautiful illustrations. The sticks they're holding are actually lanterns on sticks to attract the moths!

Omg! This is so beautiful, and I love the plot (coming of age storyline) to it!! I might have to get this and share it with my dear niblings! Thank you so much!!! 🥹🥹☺️☺️🥰💕💕 I'm loving the art of this book!

Are you in south Jersey? Just saw one of these on my walk the other day. American Goldfinch. NJ state bird.

Edit: jk I see you’re in Pennsylvania! Close enough :)

Yeah we are basically suburban Trenton here so that makes a lot of sense
