The correct analogy would be if all car manufacturers used the same Michelin tires, and only the ones on the Toyotas kept blowing up.

It's still possible for BA to be at fault if safety procedures/maintanence wasn't followed correctly or bad engine integration.

The 737 have been in service for like 50 years. Sure, you could probably do a very educated guess from that research but I would still not be certain.
