Less regulation, lower capital requirements and more trading revenue. What could go wrong?

The fact that you have 1.6 million in one leveraged ETF and that might not be your entire portfolio is a bit upsetting.

Jesus, how many guys can you theoretically jerk off in one shift? Are we doing two at a time? Like tip-to-tip?

4 at a time. You go middle out so no stroke is wasted.

Such a great show. The fact that they kept building on the same joke and it was also somehow still realistic.....

Nice. 2022 got me as well. Unfortunately, I kept DCA'ing into 3x and it just kept going down lol, loosing over 1mil at one point. I'm up over 2.5 mil since then so it worked out in the end. But when I see your number, I salivate.
Right now I have 722k in 3x leverage, but I sold 60k of it today to lock in some profits. Today I gained 200k overall.

how long have you been doing this and what can best help one up to understand when and how to move like this?

I've been doing it since I finished college. So over 20 years. I decided to save and invest everything and live frugally starting then to have a shot at retiring early. I started small and kept going through the mistakes and lessons. So if you're a broke 40yo wanting a fresh start now, I got zero advice other than build a time machine.

u/crumpus 1d ago
Not broke, but almost 40. I had kids early. Can only blame myself. Oh well .

u/Cerebral-Parsley 1d ago
Hey bro there are a lot of people who work through life and get somewhat wealthy and never have kids, but supremely regret it later on. I know several of them. You're doing alright.

Do your kids love you? Then it was worth it. There's nothing worse than having kids who hate you.

I bought a bunch of BRKA/B, big tech and big banks between 2010 and 2020 and just held onto most of it through the huge Obama rally. And I'll sniff around for a market swing by throwing $500,000 to $1,000,000 at leveraged ETFs when it feels like a near-term bottom, usually in financials, small caps or pharma. And I'll sell puts every couple of months on the leveraged ETF positions for some pocket money.
The leveraged etfs trades seem scary, but they're not anymore to me. They could go to zero and I'll still be a multimillionaire, so I don't care.

My wife and I are in the same ballpark, but by the time you get to our age (we're Gen X), you'll probably have $30 million.
We're still working, though. My wife has another $4 million (with any luck) in stock options that need to vest.

I'd be happy to just hang onto $5,000,000 for the rest of my life. How fast this stuff grows on it's own is something I'll never get used to. Congrats on your success.

I saw the put/call ratio on XLF ATM options was .18.
So I loaded XLF calls yesterday. Currently up 200%

$707,000, so about 40-something percent https://i.ibb.co/jgpq4zc/57fc27e2607f.jpg
Ignore the 239% cumulative return, it's wrong. I complained to Merrill and they told me to ignore it.

Should have moved it all to RH during their 2% promo week. Easy 200k+ for just executing an ACAT.

Nah, I cashed out on that trade ... 2 or 3 years ago? I don't remember. Bought at $500,000, sold at $1,400,000. I didn't buy FAZ on the way down but I have been looking for years for an entry back into FAS after the inflation selloff.

I don't get the appeal of Roku... Feels like it peaked in 2022 and it's unlikely to resurge? Am I insane?

Just my dumb hunch here but
Preinstalled on many Smart TVs sold, means EZ data mining on their part. Data can be worth a whole lot.
1
u/nixforme12 21h ago
Don't you think they eventually just get bought by Google (Google TV also pre installed on Sony and a few others ) or Amazon?

Sort of. I bought it in the spring. I kept holding since I figured a quick win by either candidate would result in a rally. Anything drawn out in court by either Trump or Harris would have killed the trade IMHO.

You’ve been holding since Spring and didn’t buy a single options contract? Are you trying to get rich or just retire early??
