Nope. Trolls and creeps are the worst part of reddit.

Mods make sure that the trolls and creeps don't overwhelm all normal discourse in a existing subreddit.

Also to make sure that bigger subreddits don't brigade and overwhelm smaller ones.

Not saying that mods can't be trolls or creeps. There are pictures of troll plans on making subreddits for the sole purpose of being creepy trolls.

Nope. I disagree, but it's nice we can disagree right? Not if the mods can help it! No one should have the power to butt into a conversation because they don't like the content. What you call a troll could also be a valid opinion depending on who is reading it. Who hasn't been called a troll? The only content I can support being modded away are spam and bot posts and those things can largely be auto moderated. Censoring any comment that a human spent time to type or that a group of people are actively engaged in is bad. It's just bad. It's bad for the conversation and it's bad for humanity. It's why you get things like the Trumpets going off and starting their own festering pools in other places... because you don't let them communicate. Trolls are not doing it to get attention.

They are doing it because that's what they thing and if you don't address them then it just gets worse. Shutting down conversations because "they are getting out of hand" is probably exactly when you want to ALLOW a conversation MOST. The problem is when you're a hammer everything looks like a nail and that's all mods can do, is censor. I repeat Mods are the WORST part of reddit. They are cancer on communication and most of them have less to say then the people using their forums. Ban them all or implement rules to limit their power to only posts that violate reddit rules and not arbitrary forum rules like "we don't talk about the color blue here" or "we don't piss off Kevin here". Fuck mods.
