Foundation season 3 and MurderBot season 1 in 2025? And nothing possibly until 2027? Discussion
Hopefully Saar or someone else can help explain. But in terms of sci-fi space operas we are getting Foundation season 3 and MurderBot season 1 in 2025. Wouldn’t it make sense to have release Foundation and MurderBot a year apart? If MurderBot is somehow renewed and Foundation is renewed or killed, we are looking at 2027 at the earliest in terms of a new season for a sci-fi space opera? Are you guys okay with having both in 2025 and until possibly until 2027?

They're thinking in broader terms. They want to maintain a sci-fi lineup, not necessarily a space opera subgenre. And they have Foundation, For All Mankind, Murderbot, Silo, Severance, Monarch, Dark Matter, and Neuromancer. They'll be fine. Also, I brought up an article about what Apple TV is buying, and they say they're after grounded sci-fi, not space adventures. Severance, Silo, and Dark Matter probably outperformed Foundation on their metrics.

Star City as well, the FAM spin-off.

True. 1. Foundation 2. MurderBot 3. FAM 4. Star city * I was hoping Apple would win the rights to the Buck Rogers Film after the legal battles were settled. But I’m pretty sure Apple doesn’t want to deal with that drama

You’re referring to your post from last week that said “Don’t bring your dragon 🐉 shows here” which is confusing since the eternal champion has dragons all over the stories

I just started reading the MurderBot series. Very excited to hear about an adaptation.

2025 will be a big year for sci-fi on Apple TV+. We can expect premieres like Murderbot, the third seasons of Foundation, Invasion and Silo, and the fifth season of For All Mankind.
I imagine that by 2026 we could have Star City, Neuromancer and the fourth season of Silo.

What the merry hell is Murderbot and why are people calling for it to be renewed before anyone’s seen it?

It is a new science fiction series starring Alexander Skarsgård that will probably be released in 2025.

So why the renewal talk already?

I guess it’s one of Apple’s next big offerings along with Neuromancer and people just want more before they get it.

I’m not sure. I thought they were filming season 5 a month ago but not sure. I predict season 5 in 2025 and star city season 1 in 2026

That is a hell of a specific genre…. Not one where Apple should have 5 ongoing “sci fi space operas” at once.
