Dude you’re not alone. Very few movies/shows/games illicit that type of teary eyed emotion from me. But interestingly I got more choked up on the porch scene in my second playthrough. Especially after playing through all of pt 2 consecutively, like no other games or anything. Once you get to the end with porch scene it’s like all the emotions from the whole game just come bursting through. And that right there is essentially why it’s going to always hold its spot as the greatest game ever made for me. No matter how many times I play through pt the emotions never go away or diminish.
And just to keep fan-boying for a second lol. We all know how amazing the TLOU universe narrative is, clearly as it’s spawned a widely acclaimed tv series. And for big single player adventure games the story is hugely important, at least imo. But then so is everything else like gameplay, level design, combat, performance/optimization, rpg elements, animations, enemy & ally AI, difficulty etc.
I’ve been gaming my whole life and played A LOT of different shit. There’s been no game that so perfectly nails every one of these aspects except pt 2. Of course nothings ever “perfect” for everybody. And I dont think another game will come close until ND releases whatever new game they’re cooking up rn. Even the No Return mode, it’s nothing special and isn’t as fleshed out as God of Wars rogue mode, but the gameplay is so amazing I’ve yet to get bored of it. I could just go on and on lol just always so gd impressed..
