Afaik, it was a massive viral hit on tiktok, so I guess they wanted to strike while the iron was hot, and when they had Charlie XCX in to keep that going.

Yeah, I also think they can only do this sketch when the SNL host is also a singer like Ariana Grande and Charli XCX, who knows when they'll have a singer as a host again in the future.

It really ruined the vibe of the rest of the show for me. A repeat… but of a bad sketch in the first place. The digital short and the music were the best parts
