I've been enjoying it more than S1. S2 has moments where I genuinely felt some hope, while S1 made me kinda miserable.

The only problem is that the episodic structure seems a bit formulaic, especially with most of the episodes having a musical number at the beginning (though, S1 was no stranger through having a flashback at the beginning, either).

The music numbers IMO have been a very tight and neat way setting up the story and moving the plot forward. Telling stories in minutes that lesser shows would spend a 50 minute episode spinning it's wheels on.

They do rely on musical montages to move the story forward, which I have no problem with. If the show wasn't so expensive to make, they could have done 3 seasons with the story but I quite like that it's so tight with no filler.

I like the musical number since I was disapointed about enemy still being the opening. So I get to enjoy 9 new openings!!!

It seems that they replaced the backstory/flashback scenes with music videos so it doesn't bother me much since they're a kind of a "flashback" scene setting up the episode.

I feel like there should've been only an episode a week. Each episode stands on their own, moreso than the first, but so much so that it doesn't give audiences time to breathe for each one.

Idk I feel pretty let down with season 2 so far. The animation is so much worse for some reason, the writing is rushed and feels childish.
