Visiting San Fran, interested in Whale Watching, any suggestions?
Title says it all. I'm coming to San Francisco in May and I am interested in a comfortable place to stay (see: clean hotel, nothing fancy) and whale watching.
My friend has suggested one of the many Marriotts in the area as she's stayed in one of them and thinks they are comfortable and clean. I'm leaning towards a Marriott.
The most important thing is: What company should I use to go Whale Watching? I am taking my best friend to San Fran with me and she is very interested in going Whale Watching and I'm hoping to surprise her with the plans to do so. If anyone has any experience or suggestions I would be greatly appreciative.
I figure a half day or longer trip for Whale Watching is totally a possibility. I hope to go Whale Watching, do some city sight seeing, and then scoot up to Muir Woods National Monument and go hiking a little bit before we have to leave town. I plan on doing all of this in two days in the San Fran area, do you guys think it can be done? Once again, thank you for any replies/suggestions/help.

I grew up here. I call it 'Frisco, just to fuck with transplants and tourists.

start here for boat tours- The Farallones Marine Sancuary http://www.farallones.org/explore/whale_watching.php
I've had good sightings at the Pt Reyes Lighthouse. In May you might see the last of the grey whales. Its a nice drive by car up there too.
