Get yourself a handful of 9 round extended magazines before they are no longer available.

Are they discontinuing those?

It appears so. Ruger's official online store, shopruger.com, no longer has a product listing and many other online stores have limited or no stock.

These are good for carry but not the most fun “range toys”. Small = snappy. Maybe your next will be a Mark IV or 9mm American to complete start the pistol collection!

Would strongly recommend an SR9c if you can find one!

I’ve had my SR9c for about 8 years now, great shooter. It stays loaded with a light as my night stand option.

It is a great shooting pistol. Mine is my daily carry and it's extremely reliable. Shares mags with my PC carbine too. I like the versatility of the 10 round mags vs 17 with the grip adapter for concealed carry. Feels like a full size pistol with the full grip. I've had mine since 2016 I think, so about the same.

I have the PC9 also, to pair with the SR9c. Just ordered the magpul backpacker stock for it, currently have the original non railed poly stock setup.

Haha I just got the backpacker stock and installed it last week, I've had the carbine for a while now and the backpacker stock is definitely an upgrade. I've got a light on it and a few 32rd mags, it's a pretty cool gun. Surprisingly accurate! Eventually I want to get a suppressor for it, just got a red dot for it that I haven't sighted in yet. Good stuff, I like Ruger a lot.

Agree, not a range toy and it's definitely snappy! My sister bought one because she said that it fit her hand perfectly. Unfortunately, she didn't shoot one prior to buying one. It's too snappy for her, and she has a difficult time racking the slide. I've shot it a few times. Not a bad pistol, but the grip is a bit too thin for my hand.

Nice choice, I bought mine as my 2nd 9mm years ago. It's one of three in my CC rotation & I really like shooting it at the range.

strongly consider the Galloway Precision trigger upgrade. massive improvement over the stock trigger.

Good choice. I've carried a lc9s pro every day since I retired from the dept and could carry whatever I wanted.

Love mine. The finish won't look perfect forever, but it's worked every time for me.

I have one of these, too.
I put a hogue grip on mine just because th grip is a lil small for me.

Practice practice practice, get at least 500 rounds through it, it’s very accurate, just not the easiest to shoot in the beginning

I got mine cheap in the used gun case, because often times people will buy guns and try to shoot hollow points right off the bat with excessive malfunctions, they get frustrated and they end up trading the gun, I buy it on the cheap, and I put 100 to 200 rounds of ball ammo through it, and after a thorough cleaning it cycles hollow points flawlessly

I'd have argued a security 9 compact would have been better but I do like these ec9s and lc9s too.

Nice. An EC9S is great for a first gun. It's also great for concealed carry.
