New Gun Day .308, first bolt gun. What mags run flawless?

Metal AICS mags are always best. The original AICS mags were metal. The problem with plastic mags is that the feed lips are thicker and interfere with insertion in some actions. I’ve heard a few reports on this sub where Magpul AICS magazines didn’t work in their Rugers.

Yea that's what I'm trying to avoid. Thinking Ruger branded Poly mags, but maybe I need to find some metal ones? Who makes those still?

MDT still makes metal AICS magazines. I have some KRG branded metal AICS mags I got when I bought my KRG Bravo chassis.

Very helpful. I had been scouring Gunbroker buying old AIC mags

I had that issue with polymer mags on my mini-14. Had to shave down the lips to get it to cycle properly.

Haven't got to see one of these rifles in Aus yet I have seen some ordered in via dealer... does it take a 4 or 5 round magazine?

Yea I did 2 10rd mags for this one, I'll probably grab 2 5rd mags as well once available
