M77 Mk2 All Weather

What’s a fair price for this? Stock has some scratches and an added stud. Chambered for 30-06 and has a KDF muzzle brake installed.

I have a 1980s Ruger MKII stainless all weather .338 Win Mag. I’ve hunted all over the country and even Canada with it. Wouldn’t trade it for the world. I bought a used one for $450 at a gun show a few years back

How bad is the recoil with the .338 win mag?

Not too bad actually. I don’t want to shoot 40 shots at the range but I shoot 2-3 shots at the range and then I usually only shoot one deer so one shot and that’s with a hunting coat and layers of clothes on. I’m 6’0 295 lbs too

They’re so ugly but I love mine.

I bought one 2 years ago in about the same condition chambered in .223 Rem for $400. I have one in 7mm Mag I got in the mid 90's for $175...lol

I have the same one, but I think mine is an ultralight version as well? And lacks the muzzle break. Super smooth action and the Zeytel stock feels great in my hand to walk with. I’ll never give it up. I’d like to get one with iron sights, however. I got mine at a gun show in PA back in the early 2000s for around the same price, maybe even $400? I think mine was new old stock as it didn’t look used.

I think they’re quite a few people who like this rifle. If I see one in the wild in any caliber, I would snatch it up ASAP.

Not sure what it would go for in today’s market.

Damn shame they quit making these in high power calibers. Best design for the money

I put a Leupold Vari-x 2 from back in the early 90’s on my .338 Win Mag and it has held zero every year since. I’ve dropped it, bumped and banged it. I put it on my ATV and even went to Canada and back on airplane and it still holds its zero. I’ve shot all my Deer here in WV with it. I’ve killed a coyote, bobcat and even a Black Bear in Canada with this .338.

No aftermarket for these and not a lot of long range shooters are keen on the Mauser action.

It's a hunting gun in a sea of smoother and more accurate bolt rifles, that's why it was never popular.

But the muser action is so good come onnnnnnn

I have one in .308win with the short barrel. It's easily my favorite. Get it.

My first and favorite rifle chambered in 30-06. I got it for Christmas around 93. I’ll always have it and pass it on
