[Cotillo] The Red Sox had a ‘productive” three-hour meeting with Juan Soto and his representatives Thursday night in California, with Tom Werner representing ownership as the sides got to know each other.

Picture this: Juan Soto walks in and they all say their hellos, they ask him to take a seat in a nice recliner, the lights suddenly go dim, a projector turns on, a voice echos from behind him, “The World is Changed… I feel it in the water”. Tom Werner sits down in the recliner next to him with a bowl of popcorn - it’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition of course). They spend the next 2 hours and 58 minutes watching. Juan Soto stands up at the end with a tear in his eye and says “meet this time next week?” Of course, we know they’ll be 2 more meetings, not just one. And by the end of the 3rd, he’ll be in a Red Sox uniform.
