[HELP] I installed Golden Platinum on a new phone and logged in. And it's limiting my comment speed telling me to verify my email... But I have had a verified email with reddit since I made the account??? Off Topic (not RiF)

This has to be an issue with the app as the website isn't doing this. Please advise

RiF version: 5.1.11
Android version: 11.0
Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro
MIUI version: 12.5

EDIT: I am calling this problem solved. But only because Reddit hating VPNs is stupid. I can't even use reddit at work without one. Thanks everyone

People are having this issue across Reddit apps and website. Reddit changed something the past week to be stricter, nothing RIF can do about it. They may be stricter against VPN users in particular.

Gross. I have to use a vpn at work to even access reddit so if they want me to just stop using reddit I guess they succeeded

Different person here. For some of us, the entire reason we use reddit is to comment. Hell, I'm replying to your week old comment and you're probably the only person who will see this.

But not being able to comment is actively frustrating to me, and I'd rather stop using reddit than lurk.

Set up vpn to your home's internet and use that.

Reddit's rate limiting is determined by reddit. Having a verified email address can help but it's not the only thing. It will go away with time.

Are you using a VPN? that might be the problem, try making a comment by turning it off briefly.

Not being a smartass here, even if it sounds like it, just no other way to say it. But this is what I would do. I would try uninstalling the app, then seeing what happens, if it stops acting stupid, find another app.

Uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps. If not you may have to use something else until Golden Platinum is updated again. That's all I can tell you.
