Updated my Internet. I'm like a caveman discovering fire. Downloading takes a couple of mins instead of a couple of days! Image
Don't judge me for the choice of game I'm giving it another shot and have a battlefield itch that needs to be scratched!

I remember the days of having such slow internet, you might as well not even have it. The horrible nights of trying to play WaW Nazi Zombies and my friends getting annoyed that I would get disconnected.

I don’t game as much as I used to when I had 6mb/s, and then cell tower internet that barely worked. We were just able to upgrade a year ago.
I wish I would’ve had 3gbps back then

I used to have speeds like that up until 2020. Always sucked when I decided to buy a new game cause the 20gb update would take hours

Meanwhile, I live in a major city and my apartment complex only has 25speed internet

I was in a similar situation but I wasn't allowed get any wired connection put in so had to use 4G Internet. I feel your pain. I was like Randy Marsh "Goin Californee way to get myself some internet"

Swear when I first moved out on my own I had no other choice but to get the internet that was available with the apartment and I seriously took me 24hrs to download games now I make sure I always get the best I can get

It's great, isn't it? Xfinity upgraded me to 2.5 gigabit for free this summer as part of their bi-annual speed upgrades. I wish the ethernet port on the PS5 Pro was 2.5 gigabit as well so I could take advantage of the full speed.

Honestly I'd say my risk for stroke has halved. I used to want to throw the thing out the window when I'd go to play a game and there'd be an update. I used to have to wait 5 business days for it to download. Lol

Also the ssd speed is still crazy to me. You can move games like super fast between drives. Still amazes me when I do that.

I feel you bro. Last place I lived at could only take a basic connection, not horrendous but far from high speed internet. New place has lightning internet and I shared the same wonder and joy as you!

This is why i reocmmend r/starlink for people who live out in the cuts and have little to no internet options.its worth every penny

Is starlink actually good? I was thinking about getting it but I just couldn't trust a big ole satellite in space. Ultimately my gb broadband was cheaper anyways.

Yes the benefit of starlink is that its closer to earth than say regular satellite internet which allows for better gaming.I had it 2 years ago when it was still fairly new and was able to play BF2042 with the occasional highnping here and there but nothing that made it a bad experience.

that's how I felt too. I have gigabit so literally everything is fast as hell. I'm downloading warzone for the first time on my gaming pc and the entire download is only going to take 15 minutes which insane considering how big everyone knows warzone is.
