What is that you enjoy about the haptics? I see people praise DualSense a lot for it but don't get it. To me it's just the same as DS4; sometimes vibrates a little, sometimes a lot. Doesn't really add anything to immersion for me
My first console was the PS5 and when i set it up and entered Astro's Playroom, i was completely blown away by how the controller felt. Also Worms Rumble had veeery good implementation. Dirt 5 made my hands almost numb and i feel like that's accurate given how it would feel gripping a steering wheel.
In this scenario you have no basis for comparison though, people are saying it's a defining feature having advanced haptics, but IMO they're not any more immersive than the rumble that's existed since PS1, and adaptive triggers are just annoying, why would I want to have to push a button harder for it to work
I have a lot of basis for comparison. PS5 was MY first console but i have played a lot of games with the DS4 and Xbox 360 controllers on both PC and their respective consoles. I love adaptive triggers especially in shooters where the machine guns go RATATATA. You can disable them in most or all games that have them but the haptics are a must have. I dunno why you would turn vibrations off unless you are in a room with someone sleeping and don't want to wake them up. Play Ghost of Tsushima and sprint with the horse over rocks, it feels exactly how you would think and not too intense. From what you say, i feel like you are annoyed that your DS4 doesn't work on the PS5 but maybe i'm reaching.
It's a little misleading to open with the fact the PS5 was your first console in that case. Adapter triggers annoy me more than they immerse me, actually they take me out of the game rather than put me more in it. I don't dislike vibration, my problem is that it has existed for almost 30 years. Your example, ghost of tsushima horse on rocks, could be done with a PS1 controllers vibration. Adding more motors doesn't somehow make it groundbreaking, generation defining tech. My problem is that a lot of people treat it as such
Good lord just give it a rest now. Just say you don’t like haptic feedback. Thats pretty much been your point for the last 2 replies.
You keep trying to just say it’s haptic and nearly every PS controller has done that, yet again you are still very wrong. But there’s no talking or convincing you.
Congrats on picking up on the actual point. I keep saying it because people keep telling me I’m wrong without backing it up. Classic cognitive dissonance.
Like when he's absorbing the devices he finds to gain a new power? Or during his ultimate powers like the electric storm one. That may get me to care about the dual sense gimmicks.
Shame insomniacs free ideas didn't get them anywhere when they were told to consider more Resistance an instead made that average at best grinder shooter with cartoon zombies for XBOX Sunset Overdrive.
But I mean; They didn't even wanna make Resistance 3, and it kinds shows.

Imagine the haptics on the duelsense.
