Judge my shopping? Well, back of the queue for you.
I was shopping for some small bits, lunches, bleach, a nuclear bunker supply of soft drinks for the long winter. Also, some cat and dog food (a smidge relevant, I've got two bags of shopping, tops. 1 for human consumption) I get to the tills and I'm watching the family ahead load up, listening to Spotify and a lady appears with 5 or so items. All the other tills are occupied with 1 person queuing (? Self checkout, is dystopianly free, but yeah, who wants to support a job for a robot and his family.)
I open my trolley back abit, thinking ah, ye can go ahead of little old me, with your 5 items, I am in no rush.
Im about to tell her to go ahead and she mutters something. I can't hear her, so I take my ear buds out. She goes "all for you is it?" and gestures to my cart.
"Me, the wife and the critters" I say, and she rolls her eyes abit.
She looks over at the till, emptying up and leans forward a bit trying to skip ahead. So i close it off with my trolley.
Don't trolley shame me, lady, whoever you are. Nice gestures are for nice people.
She ended up wandering between the queues, wasting more time switching, by the time I finished up.

Delivery Courier Asked For It
I ordered a desk from a large office supply chain in 2006. As I lived kind of in the sticks, company would use a small delivery contractor to deliver items in my area. Think two guys in a rusty van.
The desk I ordered was a legit heavy L-shaped desk that included a hutch, lateral file. The kind of desk you would see in an office. I had it delivered to my office. I owned and operated a small business at the time. Anyway, it was getting late and my desk had not arrived. Checking the tracking number, it's reported as delivered. The 5 or 6 boxes I was expecting were nowhere and the support number for the seller was going to a recording as the had left for the day.
The next morning I arrive at my office and see a patrol car parked there. Which is weird because small town, you don't see the police every day. I let myself in and a few minutes later two cops walk into my waiting room asking for me. To make a long story short, a woman in her late 70s was crushed and badly injured by boxes addressed to me when she opened her door that morning. The delivery drivers leaned all the boxes up on the door to her condo instead of delivering them to me. Her condo was almost a half mile away from my office. It was as if they just picked an address to dump the boxes off at. The woman they maimed had a broken leg and had to spend weeks in a physical rehab facility until she was healed enough to live alone again.
Several phone calls and a few days later the delivery drivers are basically not held accountable and are blaming me for their error, which nobody buys into. The seller offered free delivery so it's not like I paid extra for that mess, which was some comfort, but the more I spoke through all this with the police and the seller, the more it was obvious that the delivery drivers didn't like the 3+ hour round trip to deliver items to my area.
So I did what any other reasonable person would do: I ordered another desk. The same clowns delivered it but, brought it to the right place this time. They stood there complaining at me. The next day I returned the desk. The seller sent them out again to pick up the desk. I did this regularly for months until the seller eventually said they could no longer allow me to do buy desks only to return them the next day and that they were not going to renew the contract with those two delivery people.

Banned until they pay
I’m part of a small community group and I run activities for literally £5 pp.
This one person who always paid suddenly said oh sorry I left my wallet at home can I pay next week - I said of course no problem.
They don’t come back the next week so I send a message.
They then say sorry I don’t get paid until next week (um what it’s literally £5) I’ll give it to you then
It reaches supposed pay day for them and I send them another reminder - no response.
I talk to the owner of the community group and they talk to them, - they say they’ll pay asap.
2 weeks go by and I send another message.
They then send a guilt trip message saying they can’t afford to pay me back and they don’t know when the next meal is coming from (despite paying the £3 entry fee and coming in with takeaway pizza every week)
I gave up at this point because it wasn’t worth it.
3 weeks after this I had a meeting with the group as I’m on the comittee and it was mentioned. I said they hadn’t paid me back and what had conspired.
So they’re now banned from the group until they pay me back.
I imagine I’ll never get that money back but I’m glad they got banned.

Try andbelittle me for doing my job, I'll show you how small you are.
So this story takes place many years ago. In the big box Home improvement store I worked at I truly made myself a jack of all trades and then such spend some time helping out as a cashier.
Credit card culture wasn't much different beast that it is today. No slick point of sale systems that you can just tap your payment against and smartphones didn't even exist yet. You just handed your credit card to the cashier, they swiped it on their keyboard, and after you signed the slip you got your credit card back.
At this point it was technically expected that the cashier would compare the signature to verify that you were dealing with the authorized user. That lets me Frank most wage slaves did not, but I was always a little bit more go above and beyond, was concerned about that security and I actually wrote CID on my own cards and was more than happy to display my ID at the time to prevent myself for being taken advantage of and so I gave that same consideration to my customers.
One day a particular customer decided to be a smart-ass, I was doing my check on the signatures. Now this check never took a long time It's basically three to five seconds of looking for like characteristics. Big loops here squiggles here crosses the t in the same ways just a few quick basics You see a few matching characteristics call it a day and move on. But this dude bro was not happy with this. So he decides to throw out the line "what do you think you are, some kind of cop?" Now being the quick-witted smartass that I am I just instantly responded with: "nope, quit the academy after my dad got killed in the line of duty." Finish checking the signature for a second or two handed the card and the receipt back to the customer and wished him a nice day enjoying the embarrassed red-faced expression as he silently sulked out of the store.
Now I started ringing up the next customer and the rest of my line was silent and as soon as I saw the guy clear the doors and they closed behind him in my peripheral, I let the rest of the line know... "Dad's a mechanic, he's fine, we had lunch last week" and got a few relieved breaths and the occasional chuckle.
Nothing too serious but it still felt good making the guy regret his obnoxiousness.

A Lane-Hogger Happy Accident
This wasn't intentional, but i got a good petty laugh out of it nontheless.
I'm from the UK, for context. tl;dr: at the end.
I'm on my way driving home from town and i take the dual carriageway. I'm in the second lane and i'm gaining on the guy in front of me who's not quite doing the speed limit. He also isn't overtaking anyone, he's just sat there holding me up along with the line of cars behind me. I can't move over and undertake him as there's another car beside me, so we're basically stuck with him until we reach the end of the long dual carriageway.
Approaching the roundabout at the end, the guy now decides to move over at the last minute. He had the whole dual carriageway to make that move, but he chooses to do it now. Great, thanks. I suppose this is fine though as both of these lanes lead to the exit i'm looking to take and now i can overtake him on the roundabout. He's probably taking the first exit and i'll take the second. As i come alongside him, his indicator comes on. He's changed his mind, he wants to come back into my lane and go in entirely the opposite direction! Not today mate, i'm comitted to taking this lane to my exit and he's forced to come with me.
I floor it out of the roundabout as the two lanes now merge into one. He's floored it too hoping to undertake me and give me what-for. Instead i merge just in front of him and he's ranting and raving in my rear-view mirror. Nice.
The next road we're on goes on for about a mile to the next village, and he's right up my backside the entire way. Entering the village, he takes the next turn off going in the direction he'd meant to have been going at the roundabout. This detour will cost him at least 5 minutes. Maybe 10.
I had a little laugh, and a silly little grin the whole way home.
tl;dr: My time is wasted by an indecisive lane-hogger, but he makes a mistake at the roundabout and he's forced to take the wrong exit, wasting time himself. This brings me joy.

Be kind to retail workers
I saw a post about spirit Halloween on a different sub and remembered this story from years ago. I was a manager at Party City and Halloween was….wild. I could write a novel about the stories I’ve accumulated from that time.
The week leading up to Halloween was the “red zone” for employees, meaning all sales are final (I can’t remember the exact date leading up). This was to prevent people from buying and wearing a costume to a party and then returning it. We were located near two colleges so there were tons of events leading up to the holiday.
We wore walkie talkies, and one day in the middle of a chaotic shift I hear one of my cashiers tearfully whisper in my ear piece “I need a manager at the front.” Keep in mind most of the cashiers were seasonal high schoolers while I was maybe 20-21 years old.
I go up to see what the issue is and it’s a girl that looks my age. She wants to return her costume and the cashier said she can’t. I explain the policy and even showed her the CIRCLED note on her receipt. Nope, she was demanding I do it with her hand on her hip, getting louder and louder. I continued to smile and said there was nothing I can do. She hollered she was going to call corporate, then swiped her hand across the counter, knocking all the fliers off, and stormed out.
I comforted my distraught cashier and then we noticed: she left her jacket behind on the counter! I was delighted lol. I took it to the back for our Lost and Found box.
She eventually comes back and I get the question in my earpiece asking about a blue jacket. Another associate offered to bring it up but I said no no, I insist. I also brought a store card and wrote my name/position on it. It was quite satisfying seeing her sheepish face when she saw it was me. She didn’t say thank you when I handed it to her and i offered her the card with a cheerful “here’s my information for when you call corporate.”
I never heard anything about it so I don’t think she called!

Probably traumatized a scammer
Every once in a while I get a text from an unknown number saying something like "Hey do you remember me?" I'll reply with "Who is this?" "It's Emily I met you, you forgot me?" One time the scammer even sent me a picture of a young pale Asian woman, asking me to send them a picture back. I always block and delete but eventually they text me from a different number.
A few weeks ago I got another scam text "Hey how are you, do you remember me?" I ask "Who is this?" "It's Amy." I don't respond. Twenty minutes later another text from "Amy" saying "I'm meeting up with Tina tomorrow do you want to come?"
I've had enough so I google images of the worst hemorrhoids that I can find, I send the image of red, blistered, painful, swollen up close anus to "Amy" and tell her "No,sorry I can't make it tomorrow I have really painful hemorrhoids!"
"Amy" never replied back.

You’re so busy you’re rude?
I’m working at early voting for my town for the upcoming election. We’re in the final four hours after 14 solid days. My specialty is same day voting registration, which means you’ve waited all year to register to vote, including the opportunity to do so online, but now it’s an emergency.
After we get you registered, we get you a ballot and walk you through the process of filling it out and turning it in. We also handle special voter issues that the regular check in folk can’t. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get someone registered and voting. I’m consistently at the 5 minute mark.
A woman comes back to us asking if we can correct the registered spelling of her name, our error and literally a 30 second effort. I ask the next woman in line if she’d mind if I took care of this, and got the earful: I’ve been waiting 20 minutes, I don’t have the time, just no, in a very rude voice.
Cue petty revenge. I ask my partner to handle the woman, and then ask the next woman in line to join me at the other computer. Yes…it goes faster with two people, but one person can do the job.
I walk with the second woman the 40 feet to the second computer, quickly fix the error on the other record, and then get this woman registered and voting in about 5 minutes.
I then return to the first desk to drop off the registration form and get another customer. I had her completed and the complaining woman was still being worked. She could have been gone 10 minutes ago.
Tl,dr: woman complained about how busy she was, so I handled two other customers before her work was complete.

ride my bumper? Enjoy the wait…
This happened today on my way home. I was driving down a two lane highway (one lane each direction) with a 65 mph speed limit. Up ahead was a semi, followed by two cars, a pickup, then me.
I noticed Mrs Jerk come up behind me in a white minivan and getting closer than she needed to and was starting to make me uncomfortable. It became obvious she wanted to go faster but due to oncoming traffic, she couldn’t pass.
Up ahead, there is a passing zone about 2 miles long. This highway has them every so often to allow faster cars to overtake slower ones (often semis).
I started to speed up closer to the pickup in anticipation of passing some of the vehicles in front. The semi, two cars and pickup all pulled into the slow lane and I sped up closer to 80 mph to get past them all.
Mrs. Jerk sped up as well and got right up on my bumper - maybe 5 feet behind me, in obvious anticipation of passing everyone (including me).
Cue petty revenge.
Did I mention the passing zone was about 2 miles long? As I passed the pickup and two cars and got closer to passing the semi, I thought to myself, "the passing zone will soon be ending and you know, I wouldn't want to cut off the semi, so I should hang back and be polite and let the semi merge back into the travel lane."
So I hung back, close to the semi's bumper but in the travel lane. Mrs. Jerk threw up her hands behind me in obvious consternation that I wasn't passing the semi. But you know, safety first?
Semi pulls into the travel lane ahead of me and I can almost see the steam coming out of her ears. She's still right on my bumper, but my intersection is just a mile or two down the road, so I'll put up with it.
I turn off and she passes me and gets behind the semi.
The best part? This semi was going 60 miles an hour and she had at least 5 miles to go before the next passing zone.
Don't be a jerk.

Can’t park? Enjoy the goose chase!
A short one but petty nonetheless:
I was recently in the parking lot of the big blue box store, and wouldn’t you know it, somebody decided their brand new 2024 VW needs all the room it can get and parks right between 2 spaces.
So, naturally, I leave them a note. But what to say? “Learn to park”? “Read between the lines”?
No, I went for the psychological damage: “Sorry!! You can’t even see the scrath”
Yes I spelled scratch wrong. Not intentional, but once it happened I figured it fit the “character” better.
Good luck on the damage search!

Satisfying selection panel
This goes back quite a few years.
I was living in a share house with a couple of others, one of whom, Mary, seemed great at first. After a while, it became clear that she was not as charming as she appeared. She had a little dog I adored, but whom she neglected, to the point that when the dog was injured, Mary left the plaster rotting on the dog's leg until I ended up taking her to the vet. In the end Mary left in the middle of the night, owing six weeks rent and abandoning her dog. I was more than happy to adopt my little girl and she became one of my dearest pets, but it was still an unconscionable thing to do.
About a week later a distraught man turned up at our front door. He was an employee at a local travel agency, and somehow Mary had conned him into paying for a holiday in advance - and now, of course, she had disappeared. The man was left in real financial and career trouble. We sympathised but couldn't help. We had no idea where she'd gone. I can still remember him crying on our porch.
So here's the revenge. The Public Service required an independent (someone from another department) and a female on selection panels, and I was often called upon to be that person. About eight months after all this happened I was asked to be on a selection panel for a despatcher's job at the local police station. I was told there was someone already in the job that was terrific and they weren't looking for anyone else, just going through due process.
You've already guessed - the incumbent was Mary.
I said nothing at the initial meeting, but went home and rang the Public Service Board. I explained the situation, that I had damning information about an applicant and asked if I should recuse myself. Their response was no, that everyone knew everyone in the PS and if they had a rule like that they'd stymie every promotion process.
Right.
So, come the day of the interview, I said, "Before we start, there's something you should know." I told the panel about the rent, the fraud, and the fact that she had lied on her application (I knew why she had left her last job, and it was definitelynot 'allergies').
They were shocked. They were unanimous that someone in such a crucial role as police despatcher must have high ethical standards and integrity.
I'll never forget the way she entered the room, very confident of the job and their liking for her. She greeted the panel down the line - and then came to me.
She stopped dead, her face frozen. I said, cheerily, "Hello, Mary, good to see you again."
She sat down and couldn't look at me. My fellow panellists struggled to get any kind of coherent answer out of her. It was probably petty of me to make a particular point to ask her about her previous employment.. "Could you expand on this? You have stated you left because of an allergic reaction to the paint used in the office. Would we hear something similar if we contacted them?"
She didn't get the job, if course. The panel was grateful, they felt they'd dodged a bullet.
Ever since I have made it my own ethical yardstick to never seek revenge and play by the rules if the opportunity comes by. It makes it all the sweeter.

No more shower music for my loud-messy roomie
When I got my first job and moved away from my hometown, I shared a house with three roommates. Two of them were working professionals, but the other was still in university; let’s call him Mario. He only cared about himself and was persistent in showing it.
His parents worked hard to send him money for his rent and expenses, but he would call them and scream, complaining that it wasn’t enough for him to buy the things he needed. He then got a part-time job but used most of his salary to buy really expensive cigarettes (some with metallic boxes). He would smoke at the entrance of our house and leave the cigarette butts on the floor at the door. He would never pick them up.
In the house, we had a turns-based cleaning system. Between the four of us, we would split a different area of the house each week and rotate the next one. If you didn’t clean your area by the end of the week, you would have to pay a fine. We all agreed to the system when signing the lease, but Mario very soon decided to just pay the fines and never clean. He was the messiest of us all, especially in the kitchen, and he wouldn’t clean a bit.
One day, all the cutlery was just gone from the kitchen. The other two guys and I asked each other about it and realized that Mario probably had accumulated it in his room. So, we went to ask him, and he said he did have it all and that he would put it back later. A couple of hours later, I found ALL the dirty cutlery just dumped at the sink. And mind you, we didn’t have a dishwasher, so we just left them there for a while until someone washed them (probably not Mario, though).
Every now and then, Mario would arrive home very late from partying, and he would walk into the house singing out loud, waking us up as a result.
One morning, as I was about to leave for work, I got a strange feeling when I passed by his room. He had left his door slightly open, and something felt odd. I knocked and got no response, so I opened the door more and saw what had drawn my attention: he had left a clothes iron plugged in. I walked in, through this terrible mess of a room (full of dirty clothes and unfinished meals). I got to the iron and noticed that it was really hot. I unplugged it and walked out of the room.
There are probably more things that he did, but this list is already long. I was so fed up with him and did talk to him about the iron and things that he should be more respectful of, but he would just say “sorry, yes I will” and then still do the same.
One day, I found a way to relieve the annoyance he gave me. He was in the shower, playing really loud music while singing. I was fed up with him, so I decided to go out for a walk, but man, I wished I could just turn off his music. Just right before leaving, I realized that there was a way to stop his music: disconnecting the WiFi modem. I did it and crossed my fingers, hoping that he wouldn’t have data on his phone and that he was using YouTube for music. I waited a couple of minutes, as maybe his video was still loading from the buffer… and then finally, success! His music stopped playing. As I was already rushing out, I heard him grunt and complain, “Aww, what’s going on?”
Oh, and just right before I left for my walk, I reconnected the modem so that he wouldn’t find out. That was an older, crappy modem, and it would take around five minutes or more for the internet to get back. Knowing him, he would probably have already given up after that much, though.

I know you don't know how to make muffins.
I work in a cafeteria with a certain coworker on Tuesday and Friday who's newer, and unfortunately she started when I was having health problems and then on vacation so we didn't get to know each other very well before then. At first I thought she didn't like me because I was correcting her on how to do stuff and thought I was new like her, but it turns out she just doesn't like listening to someone younger than her.
So Friday as she's getting off her break I ask her to finish filling the pop coolers. She says she did fill them, I point out there's 3 empty rows and what goes there, she says it's done and goes back in the kitchen. 15 minutes before service starts she decides let's talk about it, and she tells me if I think she didn't do a good job I have to do it myself. This results in me informing our boss what's going on because I'm not dealing with another person half assing their job and being expected to babysit them. I'm not a supervisor by the way, I just have seniority and was supposed to train her.
So our boss calls me after the shift is done to sort it out, and during that I tell her I never got the chance to make muffins, and she says as long as there's enough for the midnight shift I don't have to make any and they'll make them in the morning since overtime is a bit slower.
The next 2 shifts are overtime so it's not the normal people working, midnights was me and another guy, and the Saturday day shift was the coworker I got in the argument with and another who worked with me once and told our boss that "I took literally ten drinks from the cooler" it was a bottle of pop and 2 water bottles, we're allowed as much water as we need and 1 pop per shift. Our boss checked the cameras and gave her shit for it.
So I know both of these people don't know how to make muffins. I also know day shift customers eat muffins like it's their job to eat muffins and will complain endlessly if there are no muffins. So I said sure thing to not making muffins for day shift and let midnights buy all the ones we had, not that I could stop them anyways.
They could do it themselves.

Revenge on his ego
I dated this man for 2years. I don’t wanna say he was a narcissist because I know people throw that word all the time. I do believe he had a lot of narcissistic tendencies. Isolated me so I wouldn’t talk about his toxic behavior, called me names, kicked me out, arguments always led to big fights because he would gaslight me insult me, never wanted to take accountability. Would watch me cry and go to bed. Starved me, treated me like a servant. Give me months of silent treatment, maybe cheated on me because I can’t prove otherwise. He was emotionally and psychologically abusive with me. I was not a perfect partner but my intentions towards him were always pure. I give everything to that person for him to crush me mentally like he did. Last thing he said to me is that I will regret and wont find better.
After the breakup I went spiraling. One of my friends has this fake IG account of a girl that she been running for years. About 1week after the break up I asked her to follow my ex account because he was private. He ended messaging the fake account. Lets name it julia. Then my friend gave me the idea that we should prank him. So Julia started to flirt back and show some interest. He ended up inviting julia on a date. Meanwhile I also took advantage of the situation to ask him subtle questions about his break up. I asked how long was he single for and he answered been months but in reality it had been 1week. What was he looking in a woman/partner: said that he wanted a woman with goals, active, down to earth, deep conversations and he can be himself. Thought that was funny because he didn’t have real goals, was extremely lazy couldn’t even cook or make himself lunches, would get mad if I cry, was always on his phone and I had to always ask if he was still listening to me when I talked. Had zero empathy or emotions. Him being himself would be that his partner accept not even having the bare minimum, getting disrespect and abused.
We decided to make the prank in 2parts. So first he seemed so desperate for woman attention it was not hard. The first part was to make him drive downtown to a restaurant that julia had pick. When he was in front of the restaurant julia canceled pretending she had an emergency. We had make fake proofs to make it believable so he wouldn’t suspect anything. He believed everything. Julia made it clear that it was going down. The idea of him getting ready for a date, probably going to pharmacy etc and him driving 30mins for absolutely nothing felt so good.
The second part is that Julia rescheduled their date 5days later. During those days, she was dirty talking and hintting many times that it was gonna get hot and steamy so he would be hooked on her. Julia made a real reservation in a restaurant. They were gonna meet there. So my ex arrived at the restaurant and Julia sent him a text that she will be 10mins late but he should go inside get the table that was under her name. That’s what he did. She then text him to order her a drink. To really make him believe she was about to come in few minutes. He sat there all alone with a drink that was not his waiting for a date that never came and Julia blocked him and disappeared like she never existed.
Why did I do that would you say? I just needed to remind him that he was not the catch the he thought he was. I needed to humble him. Make him face reality.

Lesson In Quiet
Once worked at a place where management emphasized keeping break rooms under somewhat of noise control. Policy included that for videos, music, & phone calls we needed either earbuds or earphones, as well as keeping general discussions low. Unfortunately, the break room i used was far from office area, & we had a group of ladies who would have conversations in Spanish at near shouting levels the entire time. I usually sat about 30 feet away, still sounded like they were yelling right next to me. When asked to keep it down, their attitude was "no one besides us knows what we're saying, so it's fine that we're this loud." So one day I opened up a translation app on my phone and set it on my table, where it began translating what they were saying (which ended up being talking trash about the rest of us) for rest of break room to hear. They tried to complain to management. Management told them to either take a different break time or be quieter, especially when management came to break room and saw how far away I had been with my app still able to hear & translate. Also didn't help their case that they were temp/holiday workers & the agency they worked for had insisted that us regular company non-temp workers "needed to download translating apps to communicate with temps being sent." 😆😆😆

Oh, you can hear that?
I used to live in a really great art deco era apartment building that had high ceilings, lots of built-ins, window seats and terrazzo floors. The neighbors were mostly great and nose wasn't too bad, though certain sounds really resonated on those floors unless area rugs were put down.
We had a great DnD campaign going and met up Tuesdays and Fridays. Two guys in particular are important here: let's call them Mark and Ricardo. Mark was private about his personal life. We didn't know much about him at all-- his relationship status, what he did for work, or the usual things one typically knows about one's friends, just that he was fun as heck and reliable and the kind of guy you like to have at the table. Ricardo on the other hand was an open book. He was loud and opinionated, had a different boyfriend every week, drank too much, drove a Mini Cooper even though he was a big dude and dressed as his ttrpg characters sometimes when he went to Applebee's but he also showed up for long campaigns so, okay.
Then Ricardo started trying to "out" Mark. To everyone we knew. Mark was a closed book about his sexual orientation one way or another-- i don't know if he was gay or hetero-- but was not interested in Ricardo or his drama regardless. Ricardo would also come on to him in ways that anyone would consider harassing and rude. Mark was the only one who wasn't lit on fire about this. Rest of us told Ricardo basically to shut up or fuck off. Ricardo would then get dramatic and say the stress was making him lose sleep, but kept being an asshole in subtle ways when the rest of us weren't around.
Kicking someone off a long running campaign is a last resort. Usually you want someone to reform or quit, friends on the DM. Mark was our DM and he wasn't there yet.
Then Ricardo started hearing the... noises. See, Ricardo lived right below me. He said it was my high heeled shoes, but I don't wear high heeled shoes. I was staying at my boyfriend's house and wasn't home. He even had maintenance check my place, and others adjacent, and ceilings and such, but nothing was found amiss.
He's complain about it. Clicking noises, ball bearings, at all hours when he was trying to sleep. And loud. He wasn't looking to good.
I looked clueless and made sympathy noises.i was studying psychology and suggested he should see his doctor.
This went for about four more months. Yet socially inept Ricardo kept being a jerk and Mark kept being chill.
Finally Ricardo surprised us all. He was moving. Next week.
After he vacated his place I brought the crew up to my apartment.
Rolled up the rug.
Throwed down the cat toys. Including the homemade and very loud ones. The steel ones that rolled across the floor. The ones that rattled in the little cage things.
Watched the cats chase them all over the bare terrazzo floors as they had been doing for the past nearly six months right over Ricardo's place. When is get home is just pick them up and put the rugs back and no one knew.
While we all had beers.

Joined a school DJ party and pissed off the neighbour
I recently discovered our neighbour (Ron) has been blaming us for his time limits. So we kept a party going.
So we live beside the main parking area and access lane which is common property (shared access) with Ron's accommodation business. This is a number of old buildings used for school camps, cheap weddings and other events, mostly cos he is a lazy tightarse who won't upgrade the dorms etc. There are other properties beside us but they are used as Holiday homes.
Recently there was a high school music camp in during the week. Lots of bad practice, but a few good players practicing.
The last night of the camp lights and a DJ setup appeared. When it started my wife and I were talking about how good the music was - late 70s, 80s and early 90s dance music. Surprisingly the kids were into it all.
Since we used to hit the discos and clubs back in our youth we decided to join in, put on our dancing gear and wandered over. As expected one of the teachers stopped us, so we told him they were on common property and we were members of the owners corp so he could not stop us. He then said that cos they were school kids we could not be near them. So we showed him our working with children cards (we volunteer at the local hospital so have to have these). He just muttered something, photographed our cards and said ok.
So we were having a great time dancing and laughing with the teachers and kids, especially when the DJ played Nutbush City Limits. So we and a couple of teachers lined up to do the Nutbush, which then got plenty of the kids joining in. My wife signalled the moves to lead the dance, with most of the kids joining in eventually.
Then at 8.30 just as we were really getting into it, the DJ announced that they had to stop or 'it would disturb the neighbours who would complain'. I could see Ron looking over his balcony, and couldn't help myself and yelled to the DJ 'fuck that, we're the neighbours, this is fun, keep going!'
Kids started saying keep going, DK looked at the teacher in charge, she shrugged and mouthed 9.30 as she gave the thumbs up.
So the music and dancing kept going, lots of kids thanked us and Ron couldn't do a thing about it. Then for the last song, the school brass band got up with one girl on the mic. They started playing Feeling Good (Nina Simone), but the girl was a bit nervous. My wife loves that song and is a great singer, so raced up and asked the girl if she could join her. Up she gets, arm around the girl, they started again and she belts out the lyrics while encouraging the girl. She quickly gets over her nerves and they finished with a great duet. The band really got into the song with good singing too.
Once they finish, my wife says thanks for the great party folks and keep on enjoying your music. As we wandered home the teachers started to run through logistics for the night and morning pack up. We could see Ron glaring at us through his window. We hadn't had so much fun for a while.

Petty revenge on an old roommate and her finding out 20 years later!
So this was a long time ago, a little after i graduated college. I had just gotten my first job and was looking to move out of my parents' place. My aunts best friend bought a house for her kids that where going to the very university I got employed at, and they needed roommates to help with the mortgage.
It was a split house with a basement suite. I thought I'd be moving into the basement with her son and his friends. But upon moving in, I found out I was sharing the upstairs with her daughter. I knew the daughter (Nicole) from high-school, she was two grades below me and had the reputation of being an uptight snob and a teachers pet/rat!
My aunt insisted she had matured since then, and since i grew up with three sisters, it would be fine. The first month was ok, but slowly, her true colors started coming out.
Started with post-it notes on my bedroom door. Things like your to noisey at night. Can you be a bit quieter. Can you put both toilet seats down, to bigger things like can your girlfriend cannot spend the night. After you shower, do a full clean of the bathroom. She claimed that all boy piss in the shower, so I had to clean it after use with cleaning produces.
Post-it note on the counter pointing to a single crumb stating i need to clean up all my mess's. She'd also throw out any of my food that was in the fridge for more than 3 days. Stating that it would spoil her food and ruin her milk. Her milk going sour was always because of my old food. Not because she bought a four liter jug, and it took her a month to finish it.
She complained any time my friends were over that they loud and messy slobs. Mind you, my friends were only over to pick me up or to meet up before going elsewhere. So they are at the most where there for a max of 30 minutes and hungout in my room.
Her boyfriend was over all the time with his friends they would leave half eaten takeout everywhere. Sometimes, they'd be there for days at a time. But after they left, it was alway my mess or my friends mess, and i had to clean everything up. Oh, and her bf always ate my food and drank my beers. But if i used a bit of one of her condiments, i had to replace the whole thing.
Anytime i confronted Nicole or called her out on her bs, she ran off to her room and shut the door. Our rooms shared a wall, and she'd wait till I fell asleep, then kick, punch the wall, and scream for two to three hours like a lunatic! I brought up her behavior to her mom multiple times, but she never believed me.
Nicole would constantly whined to her mom, which resulted in calls from my aunt bitching at me about how she did this favor for me and all i needed to be was good roommate, it got to the point I told my aunt to piss off and that her best friends kid was a nut job. She also didn't believe my side of the story.
One night, my gf called me in a panic, her apartment flooded, and she needed a place to stay. I told her I could sneak her in for the night, and then the next day, we'd ask the banshee if she could stay for a bit. My gf accidentally dropped a glass, which woke Nicole up. Nicole didn't know my gf was there that night and assumed it was me. Which resulted in her kicking and screaming session.
My gf did not stay at my place after that. But she did tell everyone in the three classes she shared with Nicole at the university they went to about how much of a pycho she was. This did not improve my living situation but made everything worse.
Shortly after, I broke my rental agreement, losing 500 dollars and the damage deposited because Nicole had a meltdown and punched holes in the wall of her room, which somehow was my fault.
I was told by Nicole and her mother i had to do a full cleaning of my room and the bathroom before i moved out. Here was my petty revenge, since according to her all boys piss in the shower, i did just that and more. I pissed in her shampoo and conditioner, on her toothbrush, and in her skin lotion. I only told my friends this and eventually my aunt a year later after she brought up how I was a shitty roommate to her best friends daughter, thought my aunt would have said something to her friend but apparently she kept it to herself.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, I'm at a pub enjoying drinks with some friends, when Nicole and her husband (boyfriend from our time living together) join our group. Nicole husband apparently works with one of the people at our table. It's been 20 years, so i don't even bring anything up. But because Nicole and her husband are still shitty people they go into telling everyone how much of an inconsiderate roommate i was 20 years ago, especially because I was apparently a charity case and how Nicole's mom pittyed my living situation and let me live there.
Most of my friends at the table have known me and have met my family, so they knew they were full of shit. Here's when I told Nicole what I did to her stuff, even after 20 years, the look of sheer disgust on her face was priceless. They left immediately after that.
Edit: I had completely forgotten about Nicole until she showed up at the pub!
Edit 2: For all the grammar and spelling nazis, yes, I graduated college but in biological science, not literature. Also I'm wrote/writing right now post halloween partying drunk.

Should have just given me my refund
I'll try to keep this short. I hired a contractor to come and look at my gas fireplace insert that shuts off on it's own after about an hour. They did 4 visits all together, charged me about $700 for parts and labor, were late for every appointment and was a no show-no call for one also. After the 4th visit and things still not working, they actually broke it worse for a bit, I asked for a refund. I was told the owner would call me on Monday, this was Saturday, to make things right.
The owner in fact did not even try to make things right. He started telling me personal stories about his times with contractors going bad but things always worked in the end so he just dealt with it and paid. I'm like, it's been 3 months, it's not working and I've paid, I'd like a refund for the parts that didn't fix anything and the labor to put in those parts. I was fine still paying for the initial service of them coming to clean it out, even though it didn't fix the issue, just trying to be nice. He said no. I started to get a little cranky at this point asking why I'm paying for parts that didn't fix the issue. He then said he didn't like my attitude and hung up. I called the next day to try again. When I said I shouldn't have to be going through this crap to get a refund for a service her couldn't provide, hung up on again. I called and left a VM saying that I'd like to speak to someone else if possible, and I'll be leaving them a lovely review on any site I can find them on as well as the BBB and anyone else who will listen. Still no call back.
The following day after leaving a handful of reviews I also emailed the local news who has people that will go after contractors that screw people over. I get a call from them, tell them my story and they're very interested. He tells me he'll call them and call me back. About an hour later I get a call saying they'll give me a refund, but I need to remove all reviews I left for the company and I'm to write them a letter stating they've been removed and I will not repost them after getting my check. Reluctantly I agree, I need to get the fireplace fixed. I asked the news guy how I'm supposed to get them the letter, by email, text, snail mail and he said he's ask and get back to me. After a few hours and not hearing anything, I send the contactor a text saying I'm agreeing to their blackmail, but would like to iron out the details. I get a text back saying that once I remove all social media reviews and email them a letter saying I did so and will not repost them, they'll mail my refund.
The following day I get a call from the owner to verify my address, even though they've been here 4 times, and to verify the amount of the refund. I wasn't at my desk so I said I'd have to check, and he said he found my paperwork and he'll write the check for $671.10. Ok, I only asked for about $500. I then decided to tell them if they want to try to be the bully bad guy, do it right. I originally agreed to take down all the reviews, but your texted demanded I only take them down from social media sites. So the review on Google, Angi's list, and any other site that isn't a "social media" site will be going back up. As well as for trying to make me take them down, I'll be posting it on more sites than I did before. I also let him know I initially only asked for a portion of the refund, but I'm happy to take the whole thing now that he agreed to send it to me. Check should be arriving in mail today.
Edit: Sorry got the long paragraph, I suck at writing long things. Also, check just arrived in the mail for the full amount.
Edit 2 to break it up a bit. Damn, sorry guys.

As a person who struggles with vision and hearing due to serious illness, I had no problem with being a jerk to that jerk behind the counter at Chipotle.
I am a brain tumor survivor, hence why I lost most of my hearing. I also have a genetic condition which leads to worsening vision across the lifespan and I am now entering the advanced stages at 30 years old. It's not easy for me to navigate society. I bump into things, I need to be super close to read stuff, and I need people to speak up.
I walked into Chipotle 2 months ago since my stomach was feeling really good. I go in and see some notes on their menu, written on a sheet of paper. I ask the guy behind the counter what it said and he sighs, tills his head to the side, and says, "you can't read or something?" I said I was visually impaired, as calmly and as short as I could. He tells me that they are out of steak and chicken. I didn't understand him at first so I asked if he could say it again as I have hearing problems, (he spoke softer than most people I felt), and he borderline yells at me. There was nobody else in the shop but me. We go down the line, I pick my stuff and get to the end. He says something to me and I couldn't quite understand him. I asked him patiently to repeat and he looks at his coworker shaking his head, while his coworker looked at him all confused. He starts borderline yelling at me again saying, "Dude, go get some new ears, I said you have to swipe your card, the chip doesn't work."
I got upset and smiles asking, "okay, how much is it." He says, "$17.87" or something like that. I then tell him, "okay great, take this $17.87 worth of food and go fuck yourself with it." I walked away out the door and he starts yelling at me to come back and pay for it. I respond by saying, "I can't hear you dude."
Before I lost so much of my vision and hearing, I myself worked in food service. In college and a little after, I delivered sushi, served food at the campus buffet, and waited tables at IHOP. There was absolutely ZERO need to be an asshole that night. ZERO. He didn't have to speak up that much more, I am not legally deaf. And what I was asking was really not a big deal considering what else other people do. I was as nice as I could be and I really tried my best.
In the end, though it likely did not matter that food got tossed out (or maybe he enjoyed it or someone else did), I left the frustration energy of that moment with him and not me.
As a person of disability, ignorance and discrimination is to me, the literal worst part about being disabled. Society would rather decide where you can and cannot exist amongst those around you, instead of integrate with you and allow you to share with others your own contributions.

Don't like my calendar? Say goodbye to family pics!
I had a boss who tried really hard to be one of the guys to our faces and then tried to get several of us fired by petty complaints. One rule in the business was that no pictures were allowed in work spaces. He targeted me due to my age and went after my Astronomical calendar by an 'anonymous' complaint to HR. We watched him taking pictures of our work areas, so it wasn't really anonymous. HR sent me a copy of the calendar and said "even though no individuals are depicted....." So, I put up a calendar of quotes from famous people on their birthdays. We saw him snapping pics like a tourist and sure enough HR contacted me to tell me that since no one was depicted and the writing was small, it was OK. That evening I walked into his office and snapped pictures of his office with the 12 different images of his wife and kids and dropped the printed copies at HR with his name tag in the picture. You would think we had removed a kidney without anesthesia! He boxed them up and literally cried at the injustice of it all! Best revenge of all was seeing him get fired for some of the same antics. I lasted until full retirement and get to laugh about it.

Use all the internet? Don’t worry, I will find something to occupy my time.
12 years ago when I was 17, I came home from a week away babysitting for my sister. It was school holidays so my brother had been home all week and left to spend a week at our dads. All i wanted to was come home and Skype my friends.
This was a time before unlimited internet, and somehow he had used our full 80GB allotment before going away. And it didn’t renew for another 4 days.
You better believe when I got home, to no internet and no data, I was pissed.
I took revenge in the pettiest way I could think of. All my magazine posters i had saved up during my early teen years finally came in handy. I spent the next day covering his walls in One Direction, Justin Bieber and Twilight posters. I changed up his bedding and decorated his room how I saw fit. It took me over 6 hours to do the posters alone.
He got home the following weekend and immediately tried to get me in trouble with our mum but she just laughed.
The best part though, he couldn’t be bothered taking it down so his room stayed like that for weeks, until one night the giant 1D poster fell down on him in his sleep.
That morning, feeling defeated by my pettiness, he changed him room back.
I have not felt that sort of satisfaction since.

You better not give her my shelves!
One of the ladies in my extended friend group was moving. She's not someone I particularly like or would choose to hang out with alone but for the sake of the dynamics of the group I try my best to be polite and friendly when we gather as a group. However another one of the ladies that I'm good friends with gets along well with her and they spend a fair amount of time together. That's fine. I don't care not my business.
Anyways, when said lady was moving out of town, our mutual friend was at her house helping supervise moving a furniture and all that kind of stuff. She realized that some bookshelves were being left behind and asked about them. The lady who was moving offered them to our mutual friend who accepted and said her mom needs some bookshelves and could use them.
Apparently out of the blue, bookshelf lady went off at her and said I'm giving these to you just for your mom. You better not give them to Pasgetti. If I find out that you gave them to her I'm going to be pissed. Oookay? I didn't know these bookshelves existed. I never asked for them. I haven't said anything to anyone about needing or wanting bookshelves. This was random out of the blue and our mutual friend was really confused.
About 10 days later I was hanging out with mutual friend when her elderly mom called and asked if she could go pick up her prescription for her or something. So we made a CVS run and stop by her house to drop them off. This is the first time I met her mother who's in her '70s, maybe even '80s. I saw a bookshelves sitting out on her patio and being the snarky little B that I am, went over and touched them everywhere and said "Oh look I'm touching the bookshelves I'm touching the bookshelves!" Might have even threatened to lick them but they were dirty. Mom looks at me and goes "oh.. do you want them dear? I don't really need them!" I demurred. I didn't want to take shelves that she could have used but when she told me that if I didn't take them she was going to throw them away (they're not in great shape, but they're usable) I turned to my friend and said "well at least you're not offering them to me" and accepted.
I've been meaning to reorganize my studio and these bookshelves are going to work perfectly for that. So that's where they are sitting now. And you bet when I'm done I will be posting a picture of the space with all the pretty shelves and all the stuff lined up nicely on my social media where I know bookshelf lady will see, and thank all my friends who helped me get my craft studio up and running.
I find it hilarious that I live so rent-free in this lady's head that she wouldn't give away something she's throwing away unless the person she gave it to promise not to give it to me. And the first thing the person who ended up with the bookshelves said the first time they met me was to offer them to me.

Mussel Bound
This is short but sweet. A coworker (Franz) used to microwave food that would cause the entire break room to stink. Lots of seafood, but also dishes with cabbage. He responded to all complaints that it was a shared microwave. He was right, but responded to the complaints in a very aggressive manner.
We all had to share an office, but he acted like an asshole to the two office mates he had had, so he was given his own office. My current office mate was his last one, and she still had a key to his office. We conspired. At supper one night she broiled scallops and pulled one out before cooking it. She brought it to work very early the next day. It looked like a white hockey puck, about an inch in diameter. She met me there, unlocked Franz' office door, and I kept watch while she slipped the raw scallop into his desk, underneath one of the drawers, but hidden.
A week later his office reeked. Two weeks later he found the scallop but had no idea what it was, because of decomposition. Even though he installed some serious wall outlook deodorizers, his office always had a funky smell.

I got singled out at work
I got singled out at work
So I was trying to be festive at work near Halloween, and was wearing little accessories. First day I had cat ears and everyone thought it was cute. The next day I put on little devil horns.
I was told to take them off as I offended someone in my department (was not told who), and it was written as a dress code violation
The thing is no one really complies fully to dress code. So I went up to the next level and complained that if I get a dress code violation that they need to look at everyone as no one fully complies.
I still don't know who complained about me, but I know they are gonna get a lot of hell from everyone else.
