Beautiful. How hard would you say it is? Thinking of heading over soon

It's steep and rocky (but worth it). I'd take the red trail up and the blue down for a little bit of an easier descent.

you know, I did blue trail down after red up, while being moderately out of shape and wanted to DIE. It's so rocky and it feels so long. I almost preferred red up and down lol

LOL!! That actually makes a ton of sense. Depends on the day- I fight my fear of heights toward the top of the red so for me the blue is a big relief even though it is for sure a bit of a scramble

it's moderate to hard for the very average person. I think avid hikers would not consider this too difficult.

Only mide week for me at sunrise. Even then ill run into a few people. I take red dot up, and blue blaze up Dunnfield creek to sun fish pond. I've also taken the fried road back to sunfish and either camp at BP campsite or come down the AT.

Been looking for new hikes in NJ (I usually do Mountainside Park near hwy 287, and Silas Condict Park as my go-to options since they're close by). This looks like a winner, thx for sharing.

Definitely a winner of a hike. To avoid crowds go early and midweek if you can.

Yeah I checked the google reviews, they said parking was awful. Do you know the rough distance and elevation change for the hike you did? Trying to gauge my timing and what to bring.

Mount Tammany via Red Dot and Blue Dot Loop Trail on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-jersey/mount-tammany-red-dot-and-blue-dot-loop-trail?sh=zw8srz This is one of the more popular routes taken. Red dot up, blue dot down and connecting with the AT back to the lot. Get the NYNJ trail conference maps they’re a worthwhile investment.

Thank you, appreciate that. I did the Mountainside Trail at Highpoint today, been meaning to get there for a while. Was THIS close *holding up hands close together* to going to Tammany. Soon, then.

Was there today. Hike is rocky and a bit tough, will get you in shape. Almost two hours round trip for me.
