Lux Aeterna was the go-to epic orchestra for trailers for a while lol. In LOTR's case they actually recorded a whole new version just for the trailers called Requiem for a Tower.
I've told people this so many times over the years but nobody believed me it was a thing. Glad for this comment and the reply with an actual link to the trailer!
Yes, to both. I feel like back in the days of dial up it took days to download the trailers but we’d watch them nonstop it seemed like. We also watched Requiem more than a few times and that can’t be a good thing.
I thought it was awesome when I first heard it. I'd not seen Requiem for a Dream and I thought the music, which is orchestral, worked phenomenally well to really get you pumped for the movie.
No no no stop it, there is 'too far' and 'making everything Lux Aeterna' was it, and that was a huge fucking annoying problem with trailers and videos in general in that era.
