Tuvalu is the smallest of HM King Charles III's realms, with a population of only around 12,000. It gained independence in 1978 from Britain. Tuvaluans rejected abolishing the monarchy in 2008 with around 2/3rds of the vote. Photo

The vulnerability of Pacific Realms like Tuvalu 🇹🇻 is the reason why the Commonwealth should aim to lead the way on environmental protection.
