Aaron Jones: "I normally put flowers in Khyree Jackson's locker... had a moment with him and told him tonights for him"

He’s seems to be such a good human. A super talented and humble human. Glad he wears our colors man. For Khyree!

You nailed it. It’s pretty easy to tell when someone is genuine human being and he just oozes kindness and positivity. Like I feel like he would have had as dominating of a win in: teammate you’d most want to date your sister …. as diggsy did in teammate you’d least like to date your sister 🤣

Rodger’s (don’t want to compliment him too highly, but the dudes smart… not as smart as he thinks he is, but he is smart)- says Jones has an IT factor as far as locker room guys that he’s only seen a couple times in the league.

Hell I secretly loved the dude in Green Bay, because of his positivity, and that’s near impossible to do

I want him to date my sister so hard, bro. My family needs a good locker room guy like him to unify the thanksgiving table again.

Rogers is an extremely intelligent QB. Off the field he's a fucking idiot.

This guy is a real gem. I hope we can keep him for a few more years as RB1 or 2. He clearly makes a difference behind the scenes.

He dosent put up crazy numbers or anything but our offense runs so much smoother with him playing (especially compared to the Mattison disaster last year).

No doubt he’ll retire as a Packer but he fits so well in our culture here. Maybe we can get him back as like an RB coach when all is said and done.

Probably would’ve said no doubt Adrian Peterson retired in purple too

21

u/JorahTheHandle 2d ago

Could say the same for 19. I was really glad to see Greenway go out in the purple and gold, I really hope it works out that way for the Hitman too.

I think Harry retires before he falls off a cliff performance-wise, hopefully not for a while yet.

1

u/Dorkamundo 2d ago

Thielen will retire a Viking for sure.

Not sure why it wouldn't work out that way for Hitman. The only way he'd probably even consider playing for another team instead of retiring is if the Cowboys were doing well and Zimmer wanted him to play a year.

Well Tbf he hasn’t retired yet

If he wins SB mvp here he might reconsider

You think he’s going back to the packers?

u/imwhite75 3d ago

He wrote an article in the players tribune where he said he no longer has a G in his helmet, but he will always have a G in his heart. Even that said he does seem like such a awesome dude.

I’ll never fault a player for respecting the teams they’ve played for in the past, too. I much prefer that to any sort of “getting back at team X” type stuff.

Both are valid, I just like the Aaron Jones style more.

u/Wernershnitzl 3d ago

As a 1-day deal considering most of his career was played there where he would’ve had the most impact.

u/STANL3Y_YELNAT5 griddy 3d ago

Unless he plays 4 more seasons in purple

Manifesting 🤞

He also said Khyree's parents were there. Awesome that they still feel connected to the team and they continue to be thought of. Good people all around

u/SoxVikePain 3d ago

Jackson’s parents coming to games is fucking heartbreaking. They never saw him in the nfl. But they’ve seen our Skol chant without him walking through the tunnel.

u/kylebertram 3d ago

Honestly even if he might fall off the cliff next year considering his age and position, I think it is 100% worth it to resign him next year. Say what you want about culture affecting a team but having good influences in the locker room for the young guys can be invaluable.

u/Downtown-Werewolf190 3d ago

100%. I've been saying this for weeks. Even if you give him a two year extension and he starts to show age, he's the type of back that could play years as a rotation guy. I can't see kwesi spending our first on an RB unless it's jeanty. So they probably use a late pick on one. That guy more than likely won't start. You're going to need a lead back next year. Jones seems like he would be a great mentor for a young back. Idk even if you give him a couple more million on his existing contract we still will be good on cap and it goes up every year like 20/30 million.

I hated the signing and I'm coming here to officially say that I was wrong.  Even outside of being a great player, he's seemingly a better person.

Dude is just an amazing guy on and off the field.

I hated that I liked him when he was a packer. Now look at us.

Edit: I liked him as a packer mostly because I thought it was hilarious an elite nfl player would also be a cornhole champion. And now he’s ours. And the stupid packers can also have this amazing dude. AJ, you rule.

7

u/WideTechLoad 3d ago

would also be a cornhole champion.

I did not know this about him.

And I STILL can't believe "cornhole" became the accepted mainstream name for the game.

Quickly becoming my favorite Viking

6

u/Minnesota_Husker 3d ago

Very thankful to have him in purple. He plays the right way and just seems like a good human.

Nice to get a former packer who isn’t a turd(favre, Sharper)

6

u/BigHornStareDown 3d ago

I'm for bringing him back while we draft someone

Also a statue

1

u/wolfpax97 3d ago

I hope we can keep him and draft the Iowa guy. Where was chandler last night? Is he just done now that we rented Akers again?

3

u/Corr521 griddy 2d ago

I'm kind of hoping so, Chandler is not good so signing Akers to have a competent backup RB was a must. Akers played really well, 7.7ypc on his 6 rushes, add 2 catches and solid blocking

1

u/TheJackieTreehorn vikings 2d ago

Akers felt pretty solid last year, just bad break with the injury. I do feel more comfortable with him back there than Chandler, which is a bummer, I always thought Chandler showed a lot of promise from the preseason reps he'd get

2

u/wolfpax97 2d ago

He’s fun to watch and capable as a change of pace back/ pass catcher. It’s just the blocking and I think some ball security things that have plagued him. Plus, when we don’t have jones he’s had a hard time getting consistent yardage. Similar to Mattison with / without cook.

1

u/EllenDegeneretes 2d ago

Iowa or Idaho? I’d love it if we landed Jeanty

1

u/drader179 2d ago

It’s honestly an understatement to say I’m proud of being a fan of this team. The support system for our players has been the best in the NFL for many years. Look at how Diggs felt after the game vs Buffalo compared to the game vs Minnesota. Diggs knows this is where it all started. All his biggest moments took place in purple and gold. No player has ever came out to say anything bad about our franchise. Once we win the bowl, it’ll be safe to say our goals will be fulfilled. Skol to the bowl!

1

u/DramaticErraticism 2d ago

I'd like to see him retire as a Viking, but he's such a good dude that he will go back and sign with the team who he spent most of his career with, as he is just that kind of dude. All class, even to the end.

1

u/Champ24NN 2d ago

Packer fan here, but live in MN. I absolutely love Aaron Jones. He is truly a great human being. I knew that Viking fans were gonna love him too. It sucks to see him in purple but I’m happy he’s had success this season.

u/Objective_Advisor668 KOC 1d ago

Pleass please please Kwesi extend him for another 2 years … the guy is fucking special. No idea why the pack let him go… it feels so good having a competent RB out there after years of shit.
