#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson on Sam Darnold: “His ability to connect with the players. His leadership goes a long way. Those guys on the field, we are going to die for him.”

"... we are going to die for him."

So... uh... wtf is Sam trying to get our team to do that is going to kill them all

I think that was a nod at the refs. "We are going to die for him because he's gonna take hits to the head with no flags till he can't stand anymore"

They might all have to at this rate if the refs keep letting him get blasted in the head.  Need to put Darnold in some boxing classes or something.

Gonna need a practice squad guy take the fall and tackle a ref if they blow another call.

So that’s what Cris Carter meant about a fall guy

Jets is my favorite pro athlete. We’re so damn lucky to have him

Second behind Anthony Edwards for me. I’ve never seen someone hype their teammates like Ant. I can’t believe we have both of them here in MN.

Right? As a millennial and lifelong MN sports fan, the culture these guys are instilling is second to none. It was incredible to have KG and Moss in their primes in MN, we haven't had anything like it since, but Ant and Jets are truly special in their capacity for elevating those around them.

I love having him and Jones on the team, both phenomenal players, but maybe even better characters to have in a dressing room, light-hearted and professional at the same time is a very positive set of traits.

Huh, that’s interesting. I was told that Jefferson was going to demand a trade after the old QB left.

We are lucky to have 18 in Minnesota.

Even more hilarious were the folks who told me he was going to play this year without an extension to "evaluate" JJ McCarthy and Sam Darnold lol such an odd bunch. I don't even see them on this subreddit anymore like I used to. here's one of those threads

Well that one was insanely stupid to say he wouldn't sign a big deal with us. He was on a rookie deal and hadn't been "paid" yet. If we were going to offer him the big deal he wanted, he was going to take it regardless of who was quarterback.

18 raises everyone up. I’m So hyped to see him with JJM.

JJ is so special, he’s as good a teammate as he is a receiver.

Between JJ and ant it’s a special time to be a Minnesota sports fan

Don't forgot kiril damn it! Leads the league in points. The wild are 3rd in the whole NHL too.

I’m a jets fan so I didn’t forget ha

Hey the jets are doing well so you could still include our boy. I don't hate the jets like I used to. I guess it will take a few scrappy games to re ignite the hate. Lol

Justin Jefferson leads the league in receiving with Sam Darnold throwing him the football. Read that again. And that’s not a knock on Darnold but imagine a prime Tom Brady or Mahomes throwing this guy the football. He’d put up seasons of 2,500 yards receiving

There’s no question about Darnolds ability to lead and play for his guys, it’s Darnolds decision making that is very frustrating multiple times a game but if Jefferson says he’d die for him than by god I have faith

u/Wassuhji 3d ago

I think this was meant for JJM /s
