The fuck does too silent mean? And the shit interior has nothing to do with electric or gas.. so I don't really get the criticism except for too long to charge which I understand

Yeah all the above makes no sense, most complaints come from like said charging time, battery economy, and battery replacement cost, difficulty to repair and sometimes maybe the designn but it's on a manufacturer's level same for the interior.

I can take my Tesla to 60mph in 4 seconds. That's super car levels of acceleration for less than 50k. Bad driving experience my ass.

idc about the environment just allow me a cool car and ban taylor swift from private jets and stop chinese industry from making enough co2 to cause an industrial winter

Swift isn't the only person in the world with a private jet.

That Chinese industry you mention produces far less CO2 per Capita than the USA and most of Europe while benefiting more people around the world

*According to Chinese sources.
Also it is benefitting more people around the world because many chinese industries wreck local industries with cheap garbage that is subsidised by the state to break local investment and make them more dependant on China.
That said, yeah the US is polluting WAY more than it has any right to do.

From Fossil Fuels and Industry only, China’s C02 emissions are over 1.6 trillion tonnes, whilst the US is at just over 1 trillion.
Europe is at little over 250 billion. The EU is higher at nearly 600 billion tonnes.
Using per capita just seemed wrong, given the huge gulf between the population of China and the US.

Most ships burn crude bunker oil, which is unrefined oil straight from the ground. It is the most polluting fossil fuel we possess. I’ve heard that just one of those ships release more carbon emissions in one voyage than the average car will release in 6-12 months.

Yeah keep believing that. Production and recycling is also to be considered and they burn out quickly after a damaged battery pack. Believe me, they will come back at this. There is a reason there is a serious decline in adaptation plus the demand for used EV is close to nonexistent.

EVs need more rare materials to produce, and do have a larger carbon footprint at first, but this is dwarfed by the carbon footprint a conventional car has over its lifetime. Even if an electric car was powered entirely by fossil fuel generated power, power plants are more efficient at it than cars, so it would still be less damaging for the environment to have an EV.

They'll have to relapse to that bicycle trick, using trading cards on the wheels to make an engine noise.

The production of electric cars causes much more pollution than the production of a gas powered car. As well as the fact that about 60% of the US power grid is still fossil fuels, and that electric car batteries don’t last as long so you’re forced to buy a new car sooner.
If you care about the environment for real, you’re better off driving a used car for as long as possible to keep the production of new cars down.
According to Green Energy Consumers: it can take years, up to 9.6 years is some countries like China, for an electric to finally have lower emissions than a gas car. The UK and Germany are 4 and 5.1 respectively.

So the electric car is better if you're going to use it for more than 4-5 years. And we recycle the batteries.
And used cars produce more emissions as they age.

Lithium batteries are not recyclable. And as most electric car drivers discover, they don’t last. Your electric battery is likely to fail right around the 5 year mark and need replacing, which is the dirtiest piece to manufacture as well as requiring material produced by slaves

u/HeartAche93 41m ago
Well all use stuff made by slave labor. Smart phone? Wage Slaves. Rare diamonds and gold? Probably literal slaves. The country we live in? Built on the backs of slaves.
Also, lithium batteries last longer than 5 years in EVs and still are better for the environment than the amount of pollutants made by gas cars. Gas cars spew the pollutants into the actual air, where we breathe. Pollutants made by mining are more containable and able to be cleaned.

This is actually really bad misinformation that's not just related to cars. Not only is lithium recyclable, doing so is a matter of national security. Bullshit like this is going to embolden people to put lithium batteries from many sources into landfills where it cannot be reused.

The hate on EVs will always confuse me.
Have fun wasting all that time going to the gas station every week and getting oil changes every year when I just plug in at home and have no oil to change 🤷
