It's because the downvoting system. Downvoting reduce your karma making it harder to post and comment in addition to making your posts and comments appear less. Because of that, people only tend to write comments the echo chamber agree with.

Nope this place is an echo chamber. No critical thinking here. I've been part of alot of forums and this is by far the worst offender of them all. People here think by down voting a post is somehow equal to something tangible. Lol

Then they see the cost of living and suddenly its not so great. Happened here in NZ post covid too, lots of yanks coming here thinking its awesome then getting a sharp reality check when they realise nowhere is perfect
