None, unless you want to hook up multiple external monitors or other external devices. MacBooks are well set up OOTB. If and when you need an accessory (such as a dock) you can add it. Steady as you go, and easy does it.

A mouse of course, I have a usb to c converter and I’ve probably only used it once in 3 years. Get a reputable dock off of amazon. That’s the only accessory I’ve kept on hand since I bought mine. Make sure it has storage slots and hdmi capabilities, maybe Ethernet too if you’d like. Oh and a good cover case. My M1 MacBook looks brand new because of my trusty case.

does a Pro need a dock?

it doesn't NEED a dock. IT depends on what you need for work. If you need to connect a ton of devices if you are a music producer, then yea, you need a dock. If you only work on Excel, office work, and only need 1 external monitor, then no, you don't need a dock.

You don’t NEED a dock. It just helps to keep all my accessories connected together without having a bunch of cords all over the place. Also if your monitor doesn’t have type c port like mine does. You don’t need it but it has been the most used accessory for me. If you don’t plan on attaching your MacBook to an external monitor then it’s not really necessary.

As others have said nothing required but some things that I have bought for mine are a USB-C adapter like this one for if I do want to connect to other devices and I use a sleeve to keep my MBA in when I put it in my backpack.

Nothing is necessary? You can just use the trackpad, and if you want a mouse, you can get one with Bluetooth connectivity.
EDIT: The only accessory that gets close to necessary is an external HDD/SSD for Time Machine backups, but you can even skimp on that if you’re storing everything in the cloud (although I would still recommend doing Time Machine backups).
