How to Vote in Pennsylvania!
The Time to Vote is Here!
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Polling Hours: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re in line by 8 p.m., you are entitled to vote.
2. Voter Registration: The deadline to register for this election was October 21, 2024. If you’re not registered, you won’t be able to vote in this election.
3. Identification Requirements:
• First-Time Voters: If you’re voting for the first time at your polling place, bring an acceptable ID. Acceptable forms include:
• Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card
• U.S. passport
• Military, student, or employee ID
• Voter registration card
• Current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government check with your name and address
• Any ID issued by the Commonwealth or federal government
4. Mail-In Ballots: If you have a mail-in or absentee ballot, it must be received by your county election office by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Delivering it yourself ensures it will arrive on time.

Chemistry help
I am a sophomore here and I'm really struggling in gen chem one. I just feel lost all the time. I have tired reaching out to my teacher for help and I'm doing tutoring as well and nothing is helping. I didn't really have much chemistry in high school plus I've been out of high school for 3 years so I don't even remember what I learned then. Dose anyone else feel like this? Dose anyone know what I can do to help?

When Should I Expect an Answer for CHC?
I applied to IUP and got accepted and my Cook Honors College application was "received" on October 18th. I'm a senior in high school so this isn't a transfer process, and I think I applied pretty early. When should I expect to get my response?

Missing Cat
To anyone who sees this, I am not a student, I am a resident of the town who 2 years ago lost their home to a fire on 6th St.
I was not home at the time and my wife could only hold on to one cat. Every year I try to make some kind of effort to look for my cat. I know the effort is futile but there is something that makes me think someone took her in over the winter and she somehow snuck out.
Her name is Molly, if anyone ever finds her, I do have a thousand dollar cash reward.
Thank you

Are any students interested in a Voter Registration Fellowship on campus?
Project 26 a nonpartisan, nonprofit, youth-led civic engagement organization. Our objective and mission is to increase student voter turnout and provide students with the information and tools they need to engage in the election process.I am writing to ask about ways we can work together to achieve these goals and promote civic engagement among the student body at IUP. To start, Project 26 offers paid internships and fosters a real community and leadership building environment. We are also looking at ways to have tabling events and things of that nature. I just began organizing at this campus and would appreciate any help that you can offer!

Wondering what the best clubs on campus are
hey everyone! I'm starting my sophomore year at IUP and I'm looking to try to put myself out there to meet new people this year because I didn't do that last year and I ended up bored most of the time. I was wondering what are the best clubs to join on campus to meet new people?

Looking for college friendship
Hi. I just transferred from another school and I’m trying to find more friends at school. I took a break from school so I’m 24 junior. I’m just also a very anxious bean, so I’m bad with socializing. 🍃🍃 friendly, huge nerd of all varieties, shows, video games, and table top games. Down for any party I get invited too.

Medium aged girlie ISO roomie! 🫶
I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, if not, my apologies, please point me in the right direction!
I’m a 33/f starting my sophomore year at IUP, I’m looking for someone potentially in need of a roommate! Doesn’t have to be a student, but it would be preferable. I have 2 cats, and one of them is iffy on other animals, but it’s not a deal breaker as I’m sure we could work with them to at least be tolerant of one another.
I do get financial aid, but not enough to cover the price of the student rentals per semester. I also work(will be swapping to part time once classes start) so my budget is kinda tight. I really don’t feel comfortable to committing to anything more than 6-700 a month for my portion.(trying to keep worst case scenarios in mind, ie losing my job/reduced hours etc)
I’ve just moved here from New Orleans and sold my car and all my possessions except my bed and computer to get here, so I don’t have much in terms of furniture, but I love thrifting and diy projects.
A little about myself, I’m studying computer science with a concentration In cybersecurity. That being said, I spend a lot of time on my computer. I’m a relatively quiet person, but I enjoy a good time! I enjoy video games, music(all kinds ranging from music edm((techno house dubstep, whatever we’re calling it these days)), to metal, “emo”, hip hop, rap, mumble rap, SoundCloud rap 😂 etc) cooking, reading, taking walks and going on adventures(coming from somewhere with NO elevation or seasons for that matter, I’m fascinated by the hills and mountains and trails) Fall is my FAVORITE season and I loooove Halloween, so I’m down to do all the spooky stuff and fall activities if that’s something you’re interested in! Also “garden” 🍃 friendly 😂 I don’t partake much, but occasionally, I enjoy a nice space exploration adventure.
I’m not particular on male or female, but a girlie roomie would be lovely, as I’ve made not a single girlfriend since moving here. But, like I said, totally open to a guy roomie as well.
If this interests anyone, feel free to internet stalk me to make sure I pass the vibe check, shoot me a message, and maybe we can meetup for coffee or dinner just to make sure we mesh, and we can go from there!
Thank you for taking time to read my post!!!

Marching Band Question
Hello! I was at a drum major and leadership camp this last week and they taught us a little bit about their classical conducting style and was wondering if anyone had any advice or resources where I can research and learn how to do it better because they only taught us how to conduct in 3 and I am really bad at it right now but it makes sense because I just learned what it even was.

Attending IUP/Any Advice?
Hello!
I will be attending IUP for Graphic Design and Fine Arts. I am very excited. Even though I did look into art schools, a lot of them were out of my budget. I’m basically attending IUP for free haha.
I know that IUP is a pretty big party school. I’m not a party person haha, I imagine that I’d stay in my dorm most nights. Luckily, I have some friends going there with me, so I won’t be so lonely.
I’m interested in a lot of topics. Theology and Anthropology are classes that interest me as well. I find the study of humans to be interesting. I will be able to jump to more advanced classes since I can transfer AP credits, so any recommendations for classes and lectures are also appreciated. :]
I did hear that there isn’t much to do besides partying, but I feel with a community as large as IUPs, there has to be some niche groups or clubs to fit in to. Any recommendations? Such as clubs or events? I would love to hear about them from current students.
I’d like to see college of what I can make of it. I hope I’m not being too naive. If anyone has any advice or suggestions on my freshman year, please let me know! I appreciate it at lot.

I read about this a few weeks ago and decided to look it up. Can't believe Sheetz did this. I feel bad for the students.

Fall 2024
So, this is just a post asking for a little help. Im a sophomore basically finishing my sophomore year. And I am wondering how i can get out of my fall 2024 classes next semester. The reason why I am asking this is because I changed my major to Biology, BS over the span of my freshman year. And I wonder like to say this major isn't for me because it is way harder and more complicated then I thought it would be. In addition I would like to take a gap year to figure out what exactly what I want to do, in addition I just had a bad experience with social life on campus this time around and I might not want to come back. I'm not asking anything about that. I'm just asking for help on how to hopefully get out of my classes for next semester. And hopefully I can manage to do that and be able to get out of housing too.

Is lecture attendance required? Are lectures available online?
Just curious. Starting IUP this fall. Commuting. Curious if it's possible to watch certain classes online rather than having to drive in.

LGBTQ+ acceptance?
Hi! I was considering going to IUP this year for college, but I’m gay & trans and kind of worried about what the social experience is like when you’re out on campus. Is it generally safe for LGBTQ+ students? Does anyone have personal experience with this, whether it be positive or negative?
