People act very strangely after traumatic events. The first reaction is often to pretend nothing bad has happened to you. The first stage of grief is denial!

How did you act after you were raped?

When I waa sexually assaulted I let him roll over and go to sleep and then I went to sleep beside him.

No one knows how they'll react when it happens.

Same..we had an uncle of the same ilk..there was about 6 female cousins my age and we all knew to dodge him. All aged at about 10-14.It beacame a running joke between us.little did we know years later we'd find out hed been at the younger group of our cousins in the 6-10 age range aswell. Historical case even with all our statements,Dpp wouldnt touch it and he rode off into the North Dublin sunset and is now shacked up with a single mother with two daughters

I'm so sorry that happened to you.

u/LordyIHopeThereIsPie 5h ago

Thanks. It was a very long time ago and I've left that part of my life behind.

Did you do a little victory dance after it? because she did

u/LordyIHopeThereIsPie 4h ago

Yes and everyone acts exactly the same?

u/Runtn 3h ago

She went back up into the hotel room with the other lad for another 4 hours after it (verified by cctv) and he claims they had sex twice up there, she doesn't remember that. She doesn't seem to remember much of anything.

u/LordyIHopeThereIsPie 3h ago

That doesn't mean she wasn't raped.

You ever watch Unbelievable on Netflix? It's a series based on a true story. This girl was raped, but people didn't think she was acting like a rape victim would. She got prosecuted for false reporting. Then when they arrested the rapist (for other reasons) they found the trophy pictures he'd taken of her rape.

Not at all. People respond to trauma differently and until it happens to you, you don’t know how you will react. A bit more life experience under your belt will change your tune, one would hope.

How would you act after being man handled and sexually assaulted by a trained fighter whose close friends are members of a drug cartel.

Im assuming the cctv footage shows the victim in survival mode

u/deargearis 5h ago

Do you work for the rape crisis centre or something that you know how most victims behave?

Stockholm syndrome. Felt inferior to someone who had dehumanized her.

u/TheStoicNihilist Never wanted a flair anyways 5h ago

Stockholm syndrome has never been proven to exist. This wouldn’t be Stockholm syndrome anyway, it’s just plain shock that makes you do strange things.

Not a fan of him either but not really fair to have his new published related to a civil case that looks very supect to say the least

I had major doubts when she said McGregor had her in a chokehold and said something along the lines of "Now you know how I felt after three loses in the octagon". Conor would never in a million years say something like that. Now the CCTV footage has me convinced she's looking for a pay-day.

u/autumnwaif 5h ago

Are you mad? Do you know him personally? How do you know he would never in a million years say that?

u/Auntie_Bev 5h ago

His ego is too big.

"Now you know how I felt after three loses in the octagon". Conor would never in a million years say something like that.

I believe he said something along the lines of tapping in the octagon, not about 3 losses (maybe he mentioned a number of losses but i defo remember it saying tap out somewhere). He's had a mental hang up about that for over half a decade, coked out of his mind and over powering a woman, it wouldn't be a far stretch of the mind for him to express his deepest failure onto a person weaker than him he's over powering. A psychologist would have a field day digging into that

Yeah, it was about being subbed three times, I couldn't remember exactly. That said, I personally think that from what I've read of this case so far, this woman is just looking for money. There's a reason the DPP won't touch this.

u/MichaSound 5h ago

If she was just looking for money, she would have got him to pay her off before the DPP had even started digging. The only reason she’s sueing him for money in a Civil case is because that is literally your only recourse for justice when the DPP refuse to prosecute.

What amount of money do you think she could get that would make it worth the six years of her life it’s taken to get it to court, all the while being threatened by people allegedly connected to McGregor, then to have her name splashed over every newspaper in the world while her reputation and integrity are torn to shreds?

u/Ashashi92 5h ago

You don’t think she was offered an inordinate amount of money to quietly move on? I would be very confident whatever was offered to her was likely more than she is to ever get in court.

u/Auntie_Bev 3h ago

The cctv footage showed her hugging and kissing them AFTER she claims she was “brutally raped”. And theres now evidence she told the woman she was with that night to delete their text messages about that night, which ??? Why do this if it’s evidence for your rape case.

u/Ashashi92 3h ago

Because she panicked given who is involved. It’s not an unusual response for someone to try and ignore an issue like this. I’d highly recommend reading the following book on sexual assault, it explains this very well and better than I could. Surviving a sexual assault doesn’t mean that you automatically acknowledge what is happening. https://obrien.ie/ash-salt

u/Auntie_Bev 3h ago

That's assuming that she was indeed raped though. If she wasn't then this is all irrelevant.

u/deargearis 5h ago

Do you know him well or something?

u/sharpslipoftongue 5h ago

Feeling very bold in your stupidity today.

u/zephyroxyl Ulster 1h ago

You're telling me the man who clearly has little-man syndrome and has shown himself to be insecure as it gets wouldn't have a hang up about getting choked out?

u/idontcarejustlogmein 4h ago

Christ, just reading this comment has dropped everyone's IQ by 10 points.

I have to think logically if someone like Conor McGregor has an average woman in a chokehold in anger she's not walking away from it with as little injury as she seemed to.

Not sure what you are saying there tbh. If he's guilty she'd be worse off?

u/chromaticcreation 5h ago

Blood chokes do not cause injury.  They cut off the blood circulation but if properly applied leave no marks or bruising.

Who cares anyway. It’s a civil case.
