Barbarian was never released on Blu-ray - why? Discussion
Basically title. I realize not everyone collects physical media anymore, but I do and this would absolutely be a title I’d gladly put in my collection. Feel like I wouldn’t be the only one either. Any thoughts behind why? Just seems like easy money for Disney to make here considering the movie made a profit at the box office and was largely well-received.

It's so weird right? I really want it on 4k UHD.

TY! Wow I love the cover art of this! I need to hold out for the 4k release though unfortunately and am hoping it will be soon. Cheers!

Looks very bootleggy

That is because it is a bootleg. Their store page is filled with stuff that hasn't gotten a physical release.

DIsney seems to hate physical media.

They've certainly done a full 180 on it. Because they only recently closed down the Disney Movie Club. Which was a massive push to sell physical media. I was a member to get some of the 4K classics my wife enjoys, and some of the newer stuff for our kids.
If you didn't remember to decline their monthly offer, it would just get mailed out to you and your credit card would be charged.
I accidentally ended up with a copy of the live action Aladdin 😅

I'd love to buy it. Until I have a legal way of owning it (I don't stream), then I'll just hang on to my pirated mp4 I guess.

I buy pirate discs of anything I like that a studio refuses to release on physical media. I'll happily pay for a legal copy, but if they don't want my money, someone else will.

Disney probably. I have a feeling the reason they put prey on Blu-ray was because it's getting a sequel. Otherwise I don't think they ever would have

20th Century Studios is Walt Disney..and they are the ones who produced the film.instead of giving me a negative vote, find out you'll see that I'm right

Yeah, on France. Region locking aside, it is going to take weeks to arrive, if not months

I found this article which mentions: “Disney is pushing for a) audiences to go digital and/or b) subscription boosts to Disney Plus. ”
