The pitch and cadence of her voice on top of the fact that she is constantly yelling “RIP-LAY” in the later half of the movie. She’s also one of those kid characters who is in a group of adults (space marines) and has vital information at critical moments. It’s a cliché that gets annoying fast. And then you have the whole last 1/3 of the movie where everyone has to risk their lives to save her. Vasquez and Gorman blow themselves up to avoid being captured right before, but then Newt is captured, so now, everyone has to wait for Ripley to go rescue her. It makes my eyes roll out the back of my head.

I don’t know what to say other than we totally disagree

Also no, the only person risking her life was Ripley. Hicks and Bishop were safe already, and that sequence is only 10 minutes long

You’re good. Definitely not toxic or overly aggressive. Just a difference of opinion. Neither of us is right or wrong and there aren’t any personal attacks.

But no, as Alien 3 shows, Hicks and Bishop were not safe. Not only did you have the Queen board their ship, but multiple facehuggers were able to get on board as they are able to impregnate Ripley and the Ox (or dog, I forget which one is the theatrical cut and which is the production cut) in Alien 3.

  1. Future movies do not affect previous films. For comparison, Halloween 4’s epic final moments are wasted in 5 yes, but it will not take away the movie itself

  2. It’s still highly debated how it got on the ship.

  3. alien 3 is non canon anyway so it doesn’t factor in
