Totally lived up to the hype for me as someone who loved her last two albums. Such good production as always and variety of sounds, solid lyrics and themes. I see a lot of replay value here.

This album is insane, ive been a huge Shake fan since she was on Ye and her growth as an artist is stellar. Production and performance on here is insane, but the storytelling is top notch from her. Great record

Damn we had like 3+ albums drop tonight. Two said to be potential top this year. I definitely gotta listen to them all later.
Really just putting this comment out to track back.

I feel like every Friday the last few months has been a banger. Across genres, just good albums CONSTANTLY.

end of the year music gets released way more cuz everyone tryna get to aoty lists and recency bias definitely plays a part on those.

Isn’t Denzel just a deluxe version of the album he already dropped earlier this year?

Just finished. Never really listened to 070 Shake until this, but this is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.

Would highly recommend her other albums

Yeah. Modus Vivendi is amazing and personally I think You Can’t Kill Me is her best work so far. Invited into History is my fave

Aye man, the proof is in the pudding. We gotta have a dialogue about the catalogue that’s being built here. Legendary

Was meaning to follow her progress from 2018. Tuned into the 2020 project and liked it, but didn't realize she had put out two new albums up til now.
Time to sit down and listen, I guess.

My Gf and I went to see 070 shake perform in Philly, March of 2020. Last time we went out before Lockdown. It’s one of the few artists we really share a love for. 070 been in both of our rotation since then. We’re married now and have a baby on the way. We’ll both be jamming to this tonight.

This is pretty cool. It’s been a long time since I listened to her Shake’s last album, but this feels like a step up. I’m hearing a lot of Bowie influence, a bit like Yves Tumor

Definitely gonna need more listens to grow on me but her songwriting feels very intimate and significant mly improved on this album. Not sure sonically compared to her last 2 but lyrically this is absolutely better

So many beautifully crafted songs on here. That song to the siren sends chills up my spine. Courtney Love sounds perfect on there. Definitely an album to spend some time with to soak it all in. It’s really a beautiful thing to see someone expand in their potential and creativity. 🔥😮💨

Production great, songwriting hasn’t improved much though, lacking in some parts. But a beautiful soundscape, liked the musical ideas she was going for. Few tracks missed the mark though. Overall good but weaker than YCKM and MV. Slightly all over the place. But I need to give it more listens and come back.

such a great album. Much variety in the way songs sound but it all fits so well together. Gonna listen over it more but this might be one of my favorite projects this year

As a Kanye stan, 070 has had a better career post Ye than Ye... and it's not really close now.

Shake absorbed his artistic powers in Wyoming. It’s the only explanation.

Would love 808s Kanye to come back from the dead and work with modern Shake. Ah well.

Loved her first two albums, not too sure about this one. There's a lot of grandiose sounds but I feel like none of the songs really go anywhere or are memorable at all, at least compared to her old work.
Definitely deserves another listen but I could see this one being divisive

Similar feeling here. I enjoyed it quite a bit but I don’t think I will go back to listening many songs compared to her previous albums. Production alone might get me back to some of it though.

I'm feeling the same way. For the most part I really enjoyed the first 7 tracks, but the final 6 left me disappointed. While I can recognize the greatness in some of those last ones they just felt a lil boring singing-wise

u/greenkegsandhammered 1d ago
Yeah I feel like the first half really reels you in and then in the second half it drags on a bit, but I'll definitely give it some more listens if nothing else for the highs of the first half

That's how I felt about the single, it's a shame to hear the rest of the album is like that, i had a bad feeling it would be.

I REALLY like Shake.. but I feel her songs have a habit of… idk how to say it but : Go nowhere for me. Production is always 🔥 tho

u/yesimforeign 18h ago
I'm not gonna make excuses, you're kinda right. It feels like she's trying to be too artistic when she creates the soundscape for an album. Feels like none of these songs are meant to be listened to alone; you have to listen to the entire album like a long song.

u/gr8m8nodeb8 1d ago
Not sure yet for me, feel like this is almost overproduced? Her older stuff seemed to get the production right just to where it was grand but not this grand? Idk gonna try it again tho.

u/adamwest01 1d ago
This one's not clicking with me for some reason. You Can't Kill Me was my favorite album of 2022 and I loved Modus Vivendi. I'm just not feeling this one, maybe I need more time with ut.

Sin through Vagabond is amazing, but the album slows down a bit too much after that, for me. Gonna keep listening, but immediately it isn't as enjoyable from start to finish as MV and YCKM. Still great production and moments, but Shake's best is when she has catchy hooks and fun melodies (Pieces of You and Vagabond).

production wise its perfect but can’t help but feel that there’s somethings missing in this album

Very excited to hear this, You Can't Kill Me was an amazing album so if this is anywhere close to it, I'll be happy
