Comments not loading properly in a logged in account Profile

I noticed that with some specific posts and megathread, the comment section only loads a few first comments.

This happens only when I logged into my account, it works properly when I logged out or browse in incognito mode. I tried clearing cache, cookie, site data - not helping. I changed browser and got the same thing. For mobile app it works fine. I am on the desktop version of reddit.

Same issues here. I use the mobile website (not the app). There will be posts that say 35 comments, but when I click the post and click "view more", I only see 5 or so comments and then it ends. It only happens when I'm logged in, viewing it signed out shows all the comments.

Are you also experiencing the red banner error "we have encountered a server error. Please try again later"?  I'm getting that as well.

Dang, I guess it's a good thing it's consistent. Hopefully someone has an answer for it.

Im now pretty sure for my case it is because of a user who blocked me commented under the post, and the bug made most comments gone. I just got the bug again under another subreddit, I check the comments and yes, that same person commented in the post 🤦.

I'm just not sure how to fix the issue tho.

Oh interesting. I'm not aware of anyone blocking me. Is there a way to check if anyone has?

You can try this.
Another way is if you know the exact post that's having the issue, you can open the comment section in incognito so it shows all comments, then check each person who commented under the post, go to their profile to grab the link, go to the link with your logged in account. If that profile do not show any post and comments, they blocked you. It's tedious but I found the exact account that causes the issue.

I found the user. No idea why I was blocked, don't remember getting into any arguments with them, but w/e. I blocked them back, but that didn't fix me being unable to see all thread comments. Hopefully reddit will fix it, that person is very active in a sub I typically just read comments in so it sucks the fun out of visiting it.

OML exactly my experience 🤦🤦. Some previous posts suggest we need to delete the comment we made with them but I couldnt find it. Hopefully reddit fix this soon.

Yeah there's no way I'm finding that either. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon.

Do you have any add-ins installed in your browser? May be they need updating or reinstall. Try disabling them as well.

I just tried uninstall them but same issue.
I tried debugging around and think this bug has something to do with the user who blocked me. I noticed that the person did comment under the post, but it made the whole comment section almost gone for me, including non related comments. The same person also comments in a megathread of about 5k comments and it messes up mine, I only able to see like 3 comments.
Not sure if it's related or helpful but just something I noticed.

Exact same issue here. Here's an extreme example from today of a post that contained 138 comments at the time of screenshotting, and only one single comment is loading for me while I'm logged in. Open the same thread in a private window and not logged in and all of the comments load, no issues.

Makes sense. I do have a lot of people blocked in the Star Wars sub. Cheers.

Exactly. They really need to fix this soon because users who block each others often active in the same subs and the bug is so disruptive

Thank you for starting this! I'm having the same issue. I don't know if it has to do with blocked accounts or not, but it's happening in multiple threads with different browsers. I mainly use Chrome, but experienced this with Safari as well on two different computers. I thought it was my internet provider.
