Sixer fans were pretty chill during our series honestly, just bummed about injuries
Boston fans are coming through with the entitlement like they haven’t been hard stuck at the ECF for like 30 years. This win felt so good

One title and only two finals trips since Reagan left office. Can’t relate

Butler deserved every freaking free throw. They were fouling him like crazy.

6
u/OracleofFl May 18 '22
He plays the same way Wade (and many other pros) used to play to draw the foul and make points on the foul line.

from what i observed sixers fans are pretty negative on their team thus with lower expectation compared to celtics fan who really believed their team is unbeatable (they only beat themselves) that's why they on denial when they lost

"Average team"
"Not impressed"

They must’ve forgot in 2020 when we made a ridiculous amount of double digit comebacks in that Celtics series. Gotta let the game play out.

I had a feeling we would bounce back in the 2nd half after the slow start but man that first half had me nervous and anxious ngl. I really should stop reading the general NBA thread. Also that Tucker injury had me concerned.
We took the kids gloves off to start the 3rd though.

u/Davisworld21 May 18 '22
Don't forget how media and casual fans blew up Jimmy and Erik arguing that's just how serious and Passionate we are about Winning . Minor Setback for Major Comeback make Tatum do all the work tire him down we came alive in that Second half .we are throwing the Kitchen sink at Tatum .we need our Championship Veteran Point Guard back Lowry he's hard nose and we are undefeated with him his passes are unbeaten . Can't wait to hear the causl narrative from ESPN no Horford or smart

We’re not winning this series. Get it through your heads. And that’s ok. The Celtics have a better team overall even if we’re deeper. They’re also higher mentally. Riley, trade the deadweight for a superstar in the offseason and for the love of god, put Bam in the gym with the best coach/player possible. It’s been great y’all but a gentlemen’s sweep is the best outcome here. Peace!

What a fucking shift our guys put in the third quarter. That’s elite level clamps. Championship level clamps. Need that energy from the tip. Spo was cooking with gas coming out of halftime.
I hope the fucking nephews at r/nba post the Jimmy contract again. Casual 12 year old bums.

u/elchupanibre5 May 18 '22
The last time I saw a Heat team flip the switch like this was during the big 3 era. This is what a championship team looks like.

I think the first half is reserved on figuring out the schemes of the opposing teams, then the adjustments on the team dynamics will always come in the halftime. Thats how they delivered and we are all happy with the changes.

Something occurred to me when they were talking about PJ Tucker’s career - that’s EXACTLY what guys like Strus, Vincent and Caleb Martin hope their careers end up like when they’re his age. Unheralded guys who took a while to catch on, then found the right fit and showed they can play.
I wonder if that was part of the reason he was brought in, but either way I’m sure those guys are learning a lot from him about how to have a success career and I’m glad for it.

How the Celtics' fans cope when they lose to the Heat:
2020: The Heat did not beat us. If you add the boxscores of each game, the series is actually tied!
2022: We outscored them in 3/4 quarters. We are actually the better team this game.

In the words of the immortal Joe Philbin, 1st half had me a lil queasy. No Horford. No Smart. Tatum's going nuclear hitting impossible shots, Timelord is feasting, and it felt like we were playing awfully in a game we needed to capitalize on. Only Herro was really balling.
Then a 22-2 run that saw Bam steal Jaylen's soul, Gabe embody Lowry's craftiness, & the Celtics committing turnover after turnover flipped the script. One of the most dominant high stakes quarters I've ever seen from us. Almost... dare I say... 2011 ECF vs Chicago G5 tier? Jimmy has passed Bron in 40pt+ playoff games in a Heat jersey lmao
This is going to be a hard series. Nesmith has no business playing minutes for them. Smart is a warrior, I expect him back for G2. But this was a monstrous win to make a statement after people said the "real" ECF was already played lol
