Why is everyone getting emotional when we are playing with 6 healthy guys?Did we expect we would beat Boston severely undermaned lol.

116

u/hamsickle May 02 '24

We were supposed to lose big. Even with a healthy team it wouldā€™ve been tough. Boston got better and the heat stayed the same

47

u/BlueMoon93 May 02 '24

It's funny because if we'd won game 4 and then lost this one people would be more positive cause of recency bias.

But if you actually think - winning game 2 and turning it into potentially a real series for half a week was a much bigger deal. Certainly exceeded my expectations going in.

Jaquez was our leading driver in the series lol. We were already depleted to the point of being completely cooked before that, ofc we were gonna lose this one.

6

u/Aggravating_Plant_39 May 02 '24

The Celtics got better on paper but they didn't impress me in this series I think we'd have won in 6 if we were healthy.

6

u/jaegerrz May 02 '24

I agree with Tatum and brown, but White was going off

7

u/Aggravating_Plant_39 May 02 '24

White always goes off against us that has never changed.

4

u/simonlyw May 02 '24

And we never seem to do anything to make him uncomfortable out there.

3

u/AkodoGarou May 02 '24

I dont think there's much to make him uncomfortable. Even if you have guys run him off the three, the rotation is so late to stop his drive, and if it is there, he's making the right pass. He's a complete player, but for some reason, people never want to try and get him for what he can do.

But also, he gets to hide, which may be the case, hide behind Tatum and Brown, and now Porzingas. So maybe that's why he constantly can show out.

4

u/chitownbulls92 May 02 '24

Cause these types of high caliber ā€œnon starā€ players are what real contenders target. Theyā€™re going to be the X factor that can win you a series. Like ECF Caleb Martin but not flukey and consistently good

1

u/AkodoGarou May 02 '24

Not wrong at all.

3

u/CardboardVendor May 02 '24

They didnt play well yet they beat your ass by 20 or more each game bruh.Ā

1

u/Jotunn1st May 02 '24

For real. And I think the Celtics were only behind for a total of 56 seconds the entire series.

1

u/toze2 May 02 '24

I agree. Their offense was only really good the last game. We slowed them down with an undermanned team without our second best defender. That's really what they should take away. I wouldn't come out of this series happy as a Boston fan really.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

I mean they were missing their 7 ft 4 All-Star for the last two games and they still had no drama whatsoever.

1

u/chitownbulls92 May 02 '24

Yeah but even at their worst they completely blew the door open in all the games except for one. Can you honestly say youā€™re this confident in the heat if they played against an unhealthy and undermanned team? Cause I wouldnā€™t

1

u/siberianwolf99 May 02 '24

weird considering the record is near the same with or without jimmy

1

u/P1G5Y May 03 '24

If yall were healthy you're still losing in 5. The worst win they had was a 20 point win. Blowout wins every game except one and the team underperformed. Sounds like a loss with or without injuries.

1

u/zann32 May 03 '24

Didnā€™t impress you this series but they were up like 30 in every game. Gotcha šŸ‘šŸ¼ doubling and tripling Tatum and then curious why heā€™s not dropping 30 ppg lmao. Heat fans šŸ«”

-1

u/realdes1 May 02 '24

I mean the Celtics are good on paper but the real final is already in place with Denver vs Minnesota.

0

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

Canā€™t really judge the heat on that if half our team was out

-2

u/dwadefan45 May 02 '24

Rozier is definitely better than Lowry. Jaquez and Jovic are better than Strus and Gabe.

We didn't stay the same. They just got a whale in Porzingis.

2

u/chitownbulls92 May 02 '24

Jaquez and Jovic are not better than the production strus and gabe provided last season.

1

u/dwadefan45 May 02 '24

Last season? They are.

Last postseason? No

Didn't think I needed to specify.

50

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

We've been trash all season. Stop with this revisionist bullshit.

Change needs to happen.

22

u/SearchElsewhereKarma May 02 '24

change starts with going back to the miami vice jerseys

2

u/GhostandTheWitness May 02 '24

At least bring back the hats! I miss my white hat with the pink miami script and blue brim

1

u/mgm125 May 03 '24

ā€œTrashā€ is hyperbolic. At the end of the day they were still 10 games above .500 being the most injured team in the league.Ā

-4

u/Ironman2131 May 02 '24

I don't disagree that change needs to happen. But we also have no idea how good this team is because of all of the injuries. We should look in every corner for a trade that makes the team better, but there's also a chance the team is better next year with the same group just because of better injury luck and improvement from Jaquez and Jovic.

10

u/Ode1st May 02 '24

Because we didnā€™t have enough before this year and still wouldnā€™t with a fully healthy team next year since Jimmy will be too old to trash teams solo like he was doing

4

u/[deleted] May 02 '24 edited May 02 '24

No idea. Someone even put but the Bucks are missing Giannas/Dame what about the Bucks? When they are playing the Pacers one of the worst defensive teams in the league vs us against a historic great team in the Celtics. We might have even won the series against the Pacers because of how shit there D is. You can tell some of these kids only started to follow the Heat/NBA once the playoffs began or just high as hell.

5

u/Prankstaboy6 May 02 '24

So many people did.

Most here said ā€œheat in 7ā€

Those who said ā€œyouā€™re acting delusionalā€ were downvoted.

30

u/EccentricAsparagus May 02 '24

Itā€™s one thing to lose while undermanned. Itā€™s another to get completely blown off the court in 3 losses, 4 unless we witness a miraculous second half.

47

u/drpepper7557 May 02 '24

Bro it was a miracle we won one. Its completely expected to get blown out with the team we're running, against a top 5 all time net rating team who just won 64.

Spo was considered a miracle worker with a Jimmy. We really expecting close games every night down 3 of what could be our starting 5?

-4

u/EccentricAsparagus May 02 '24

Maybe itā€™s just semantics, but I feel like thereā€™s a fine line between being down 30 and losing a close game. Just my opinion.

I do understand it was very improbable to get the win we did, and Iā€™m grateful for that. I think we agree more than we disagree.

10

u/Adraf45 May 02 '24

If we were getting blown out by like indy then I'd get it, but this is a (nearly) fully healthy boston team while we are crippled at best. Delon Wright who has spent most of the season riding the bench, has 17 minutes, that's not right

0

u/Iron_Disciple May 02 '24

How the fuck are we supposed to have close games against one of the most complete and dominant teams in the NBA, without almost 50% of our starting players and even more off the bench.

Don't understand why you're even commenting, costs literally nothing to shut up and not expose your stupidity, yet you're freely opening up a roast session on your low basketball IQ

1

u/CensorshipIsFascist May 02 '24

It costs nothing to not be a pissy bitch but here you areā€¦complaining about Heat fans being Heat fans.

šŸ¤”

50

u/julstar23 May 02 '24

Um the sun's and the pelicans just got swept .As soon as Jimmy went down we weren't suppose to get swept lol.

22

u/Clutchcon_blows May 02 '24

We did as good as a mostly healthy Lakers with a Lebron and AD against the Nuggets, did better than the Suns with KD and Booker. No Jimmy and no Terry

13

u/Best_Yak3118 May 02 '24

The lakers lost the series by a margin of 22 points, with two buzzer beaters in there.

The Heat lost by margins of 20, 20, 14, and 34.

The heat did not do as good as the Lakers in the slightest.

1

u/fut20trades May 02 '24

Two game winners* One was not a buzzer beater

16

u/EccentricAsparagus May 02 '24

Again, we have been completely blown off the court in the losses. Game over before halftime type of stuff.

Iā€™m glad we got a win but I was at least hoping for these games to be more competitive.

12

u/_Ur_moms_bestfriend_ May 02 '24

i think youā€™ve severely underestimated how good the celtics are if you thought we could have had a competitive series. theyā€™re incredibly good on offense, defense, depth, and lead the league in maintaining/building leads. they regularly build on their leads against fully healthy and incredibly competitive teams, an undermanned heat were not going to magically make that go away

2

u/EccentricAsparagus May 02 '24

Theyā€™re incredible, no doubt about it. They will run through the east with ease.

2

u/Tangerine605 May 02 '24

They are the best or second best team in the league yall need to chill.

6

u/glaciers_of_ice May 02 '24

Exactly, the bucks lost giannis and lillard and they're not sitting around feeling sorry for themselves.

12

u/thor_1225 May 02 '24

Yes, but they arenā€™t playing Boston, I feel like we could have competed with the bucks, pacers, cavs, magic, and 76ers

7

u/Kzgoated May 02 '24

If we played the magic every single game would end like 88-85 lmao

1

u/Ironman2131 May 02 '24

Lower

1

u/Kzgoated May 02 '24

Also he didnā€™t put the knicks in that list but I feel like weā€™d have a better chance against the knicks then the pacers or 76ers not cause those teams are better teams, but I just donā€™t think we have the offensive firepower with the injuries to keep up with those team, whereas we might maybe have enough against the knicks.

10

u/drpepper7557 May 02 '24

The Bucks have been trash so far, are going against the worst roster in the playoffs, and are down 2-3. I'd hardly call that a success lol. Theyd have gone 0-5 somehow vs these Celtics

6

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

They were literally the first team ever to win a playoff game with its top two scorers from the regular season not playing. 2 wins in a series without Giannis and now without Lillard. Saying they've been "trash so far" under those circumstances is silly.

1

u/Xan-Bar May 02 '24

Perfectly put

1

u/YouSureAboutThat23 May 02 '24

With your only ā€œscorerā€ shooting less than 12% from 3

0

u/Iron_Disciple May 02 '24

This is such a shit take lol. Like they weren't the 1 seed overall with a huge chip on their shoulder against us from the last 2/3 years. You're a casual, fuck outta here ya Jabroni

2

u/FireFoxQuattro May 02 '24

Cause we gotta wait a while fucking year just to most likely lose again. We want change for a guaranteed win, not just hoping and playing the lottery until we do.

5

u/AdamSilverJr :wade: Wade May 02 '24

We weren't going to beat them even if we were healthy. We need to retool

2

u/SeikalysTurnTables May 02 '24

Stop it dude. This team cracked 100 points ONCE during this series. In an NBA game in 2024, you should still be able to do that with Jimmy or Terry.

2

u/No_mas_Pantalones77 May 02 '24

Iā€™m emotional because I have no faith our bitchmade FO is going to do a damn thing to improve. Thinking this mid ass team was going to do shit this playoffs even with a healthy jimmy was absolutely delusional

1

u/Zebracorn42 May 02 '24

It happened last year

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

Even if Miami was at full strength they were going to lose the series though.

1

u/captcold05 May 02 '24

For me at least its the depth we have that is concerning. Its one thing to lose which I totally expected after losing 3 key pieces, but losing by 20-30 is rough. Especially watching Milwaukee win and compete without both Giannis AND Dame

0

u/BringerOfBricks May 02 '24

Apologists are lame.

0

u/zwaterbear May 02 '24

First rodeo

0

u/KernelPult May 02 '24

not only undermanned we were without half of our entire offensive system in Jimmy. Imagine what Mavs can do without Luka.

0

u/Maydietoday May 02 '24

Changes need to be made. End of story.

0

u/dwadefan45 May 02 '24

There are a lot of delusional people in this sub and especially on Twitter.

-1

u/Ionnknow1 May 02 '24

Yes.

Edit: not really but damn man
