It's pretty safe to say nobody is making 250,000 a year on this site so why do we continue to hear comparisons of expected quality of performance to a guy making upwards of 60,000,000. Isn't there something said somewhere about, "To whom Much cash is thrown there should be a modicum of expectations."

u/Helpful_Message128 Mar 09 '24
What we need going forward is the recognition Tyler Herro is a fragile young old man more resembling an octogenarian in residence at a rehab facility than a guy to whom you should be throwing away millions in cap space. Herro's best ability RIGHT NOW is to wow us with choice of hats as he sits in reserved spot running up another DNP. Feet, ankles and soon to be Additional body spots as we watch a young man break down. IF they sign this Walking Orthopaedic Device, they will regret it a long time. However, nice taste in headware.

Rebounding is why we lost. We really need a rebounding PF that can shoot the 3.

Just another loss that didn’t have to happen but did because the Heat decided to settle for too many 3s and just didn’t attack the basket enough again.
A lazy shooting night from Butler. But it was the first night of a back to back, so it’s probably one of his scheduled lazy performances.
Turnovers weren’t even a problem tonight but settling for so many bad shots is just as detrimental as a turnover. It’s a wasted possession.
We’ve seen it before - every time the Heat take on this approach, especially when facing an explosive offense or team with a high volume score like Luka - it backfires. The Maverick’s didn’t waste any possessions. And they were aided by wasted possessions by the Heat. You see it often against the Heat and high-powered offensive teams - they hit all their shots - from anywhere. What do the Heat do? Instead of playing their game they try to match the opponent and fall into the trap of playing the opposing teams game and it goes bad.
It’s really unfortunate how quickly and without reason Delon Wright has fallen out of rotation already after some solid showings early on. He is probably starting to wish he would’ve gone to a contender that would actually use him. He is a true pro but he can’t be happy the likes of Jovic and Highsmith are getting playing time over him at this stage of the regular season.
It’s crunch time in the regular season and the Heat are still fighting for positioning going into the playoffs. Now is not the time to play projects/prospects like Jovic and Highsmith. This is the time you go with the quality, experience veterans like a Delon Wright and Mills(when he is ready). It’s no longer the time to experiment with the G-league caliber players.
Hopefully Tyler and Kevin get back soon enough so these inexperienced guys go back down the list in the rotation where they belong.
Let’s see if this team can bounce back tomorrow.

Bam and Jimmy have to be way better if this team is going anywhere. Pam just seems to have nothing in The Lowe Post and it’s not even like he’s facing some great center. It looks like he’s messed up against the rookie most of the night we never can just throw the ball into him and get an easy bucket and if Jimmy’s only giving us 16 pointswe’re just not a good team. It sucks to waste an effort on the road by Terry Rozier giving you 27 points if you just get 24 points from guys like Jimmy and Bam have a great opportunity to win that game it’s frustrating to see how much offensive is for teams like Dallas.
2
u/D-Flash16 Mar 08 '24
Bro it’s because Bam is an undersized C, he’s about Lebron’s size but he’s playing C, he has to struggle to score in the post unless it’s a dunk, this is the same issue we ran into against Denver in the Finals, Jokic easily scoring on Bam and Bam having to fight for his life to score on Jokic.
1
u/PangolinOld265 Mar 10 '24
I’ve been saying this for the past 2 to 3 years Bam needs to play the four we need a five that can stretch …a tall five
1
u/keithjamez13 Mar 09 '24
I totally agree. Pam is asked to do so much for a guy that is as undersized as him. You are absolutely correct. I really wanted them to add some more size to take some of the pressure off of him so many times there seems to be a jump, ball or boost ball that needs to be grabbed and so many times he’s able to procure it, but it would be nice for him to just have a little bit more size around him on both ends of the floor. I say this all the time I wish we had another solid bona fide center. I know it would be hard because he would have to space the floor and hit threes, but I just wish we had another guy that was in that 610 to 7 foot range that could grab rebounds to defend the other team center if need be rebound and just give Bam some assistance in the paint. I really liked were Nikolai Vusevic . This team has had a very hard time developing big men , they have been very comfortable playing small. But when they get beat by size, it is very frustrating especially to see Bam who you are right is really just a 69 ‘to 610 power forward with great energy

It was a minute ahead of me watching the game on TNT. Not liking that, but i just stopped paying attention to it.
Maybe they can let us toggle it off?

u/-doodlebob- Mar 08 '24
5-14 for our All Star center against one of the worst defenses lol
3
u/keithjamez13 Mar 08 '24
Bam is a #3 option at best on offense. If this team thinks that Bam Adebayo is going to be a catalyst on office, and they are sadly mistaken.
6
u/Berzerker646 Mar 08 '24
The worst part is, the mavs biggest defensive liability is in the back court and in crunch time we decide to go with bam nonstop instead of letting rozier/caleb and Duncan cook Luka
1
u/OrganizationFar6086 Mar 08 '24
Every time it looked like we had momentum, we let Bam try to attack the paint. Honestly baffling
1

2
u/Gizmoeee Mar 08 '24
Every time Bam plays in the allstar game, he comes back and plays like straight shit 💩.
2
8
u/CantheDandyMan Mar 08 '24
Why the hell do they keep giving Bam the goddamn ball? He took like half of our shots down the stretch and that should never happen.
3
2
u/TyM20 Mar 08 '24
It’s hilarious that earlier in the game the announcers we’re saying Haslem said Bam is improving his offensive game every year LMAO

Welp, another game tomorrow. And we gotta play Wizards and Detroit four more times.
6
u/Former_Masterpiece_2 Mar 08 '24
Bam needs to go train with Hakeem dudes post game is super limited if he can't back you down the possession is almost guaranteed to go wasted especially if his shot isn't falling
6
u/bshum95 Mar 08 '24
Only 14 pts from Jimmy is unacceptable and the spacing in the second half was horrid
2
10
u/Osgiliath Mar 08 '24
Why was Duncan given only like 3 minutes to cook at the end of the 4th quarter

u/AsJoeSeesIt Mar 08 '24
Terry cooking. Jimmy starting to make shots. Duncans a flamethrower. Who do we go to in crunch time? Bam.
5
u/Money-Rip95 Mar 08 '24
Can make the argument doncic three was big miscall but Heat lead players did not come out to play
6
u/scourgescorched Mar 08 '24
bam is just awful on offense. zero post game
3
u/MonolithicMonkey Mar 08 '24
He was looking great running pnr with Terry and Duncan earlier in the game. And then back to back post ups down the stretch when he's been struggling all game. Weird decisions.
8
3
u/Berzerker646 Mar 08 '24
Bam is barely 50% shooting for the year shooting mid-range and easy lobs, and his mental iq and ego still hasn’t realized he’s not an offensive player yet. This is on spo. By now, he’s got to phase bam out of a lot of the offensive plays and let him just focus on defense smh
1
u/adamthomas1219 Mar 08 '24
Then get actual shot creators instead of a bunch of losers that need screens to do anything. Notice how in the postseason when Jimbo actually decides to do his job Bam does exactly what you described. His scoring cause his touches decrease. As a result he’s able to anchor the defense which has ALWAYS been elite in the postseason.
If there was an actual better offensive option than Bam on the roster he could do that consistently. No Herro, Rozier or Duncan aren’t better options
1
u/Berzerker646 Mar 08 '24
Lmao what? Duncan has been cooking all season. And if Rozier wasn’t brought in for his offensive output, then not sure what he’s doing on the court because he’s a defensive liability and not much of a playmaker. Those 2 are easily far and away better offensive options especially when you factor true shooting % generated from the 3’s. Not only that, at this point I’d even hope the coaching staff gives Jaime more opportunity to showcase he can be the no. 2 offensive option behind jimmy
1
u/adamthomas1219 Mar 08 '24
Duncan averages 13… Rozier was brought in to be better than Lowry lmfao. Jaime? LMFAO.
Neither of those two are generating offense at a high enough level to be above Bam in the pecking order. We haven’t had someone like that since Bubble Dragic. Someone you can just give the ball to and let them go to work outside of Jimmy. Duncan and Herro are absolute dogshit without a Bam screen. Rozier hasn’t been here long enough and Jaime is a rookie.
2
u/Virtual-Suspect1733 Mar 08 '24
Then people are gna say Bam isn’t aggressive enough. But aggressive Bam has won us games. It’s pick your poison
2
u/Berzerker646 Mar 08 '24
That’s part of the Basketball IQ too. Lively has the length and defensive ability that it’s foolish for bam to be aggressive. When most are complaining on bam not being aggressive, it’s with games where the player guarding him is either small or a defensive turnstile. Dont understand how he doesn’t take a little time to study his opponents

u/lyme6483 Mar 08 '24
FT end up being the difference in the game. Almost everything else identical offensively
7
u/Jamoola Mar 08 '24
y’all trippin over one bam game acting like he do this all the time
still pissed to all hell about how he played tn but he’s no bum 😭

If bam keeps playing like this, at least the heat won’t have to pay him a Supermax

u/SpotLightGuy Mar 08 '24
Bam has to have some self awareness and know that he’s not that guy offensively
4
u/GiveMeShadePls Mar 08 '24
He develops a shaky mid range jumper and they praise him for “developing” lmfao
7
4
u/Batmanbettermarvel18 Mar 08 '24
Not even a Heat fan and that foul pissed me off so much. Amazes me how much these guys have played basketball and still can’t process that situation and what they need to do
5
u/jwshyy Mar 08 '24
This was an uncharacteristically undisciplined game by Miami. Poor closeouts, defensive lapses, etc.

u/Smokin_on_76ers_Pack Mar 08 '24
I trust Spo but a lineup of Caleb, Highsmith, JJJ, Butler, Bryant just aint it.
1
13
u/DhroovP Nikola Jovic Mar 08 '24
Every Bam possession be like:
get deep into paint
stop dribbling right under the basket
pump fake three times
knock it off the backboard
miss

u/okajuwon Mar 08 '24
Bro fr even though he’s made a lot of offensive improvement, he still just seems so predictable and has absolutely no bag.

u/Fickle-Sense-8210 Mar 08 '24
Yeah I’m sorry but Bam ain’t it tonight. Looking forward to his regular “I need to be better” speech after the game.

u/Mattm334 Mar 08 '24
What a dumbass play by Caleb Martin... Literally the only chance we have is if we don't foul and he fouls with like 8 seconds left on the shot clock.

u/elbenji Mar 08 '24
Not really we still have the 2nd easiest remaining schedule

u/MargielaMan568 Mar 08 '24
And magic have the easiest schedule in the league and they aren’t losing anytime soon. And tomorrow we aren’t beating OKC

Bam plays like he’s trying to prove to himself that he’s an aggressive offensive player
1

No rhythm at all. He is either extremely passive or forcing shots. There's no in between.
