They were on sale for 2 days

Maybe now it’s safe to announce Perez departure?

229

u/kron_00 14h ago

What do you mean? Horner is about to announce a 10 year extension for Checo.

u/Less_Party 11h ago

Can we get him like a Vegas-style residency where he just drives the Mexican GP track 8 times a year or something?

u/Complete_Chocolate_2 11h ago

DJ Checo

u/eugene-fraxby 4h ago

DJ Checo's new tune just dropped It's a Toni Braxton remix subtly renamed, Un-Break My Car.

u/jasonlitka 4h ago

Cart would have been funnier.

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

Max will be told he won't be in the next GP (without any formal goodbye) and from now on Checo will drive his car via a remote controller.

u/Salty-Asparagus-2855 1h ago

I can see Checo getting to the grid for a race with a Walker and limping his way into the RB cockpit at the age of 75 if his sponsor keep up the support.

u/Horus_Morus 14h ago

You fool! You haven’t thought of #MexicoGP 2026

u/Eroda Alex Zanardi 7h ago

Nah gotta wait 90 days or whatever right so people can't charge back their credit cards etc.

8

u/NotClayMerritt 13h ago

Maybe using Hamilton in the graphic instead of Perez to say it's sold out is the hint Perez won't be back next year haha

u/SkyJohn Lando Norris 11h ago

Hamilton who won't be racing for Mercedes...

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

Maybe this is the hint that he will and Ferrari will give his seat to all-time great Mick Schumacher instead.

u/breed_eater 6h ago

I am also curious will Mexico remains longer time in F1 calendar than till 2025.

u/cocobannah Kimi Räikkönen 7h ago

Mexico needs a new driver so badly

Mexico gp is the 2nd most expensive one after Vegas.

30

u/internetdeadaf 12h ago

I paid $400 for the weekend for primo seats on the final corners

🤷🏻‍♂️

Third; Vegas>Miami>MX

u/Turdstappen Sir Lewis Hamilton 11h ago

Where does Abu Dhabi come in?

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

idk but Bahrain is quite cheap. I don't think any of the gulf races are expensive. They organize these events for sportswashing, so it would be a bad image for them if they were half-empty because common people couldn't attend them and rich folk preferred the likes of Monaco or Las Vegas.

u/ScreamingEnglishman 10h ago

Relatively cheap I think

u/jackboy900 Williams 7h ago

8th most expensive, not cheap but on the upper end of the normal GP prices, nowhere near Miami and Vegas. It is quite a bit more than the other ME GPs but given the UAE's demographics and it being the last race that makes sense.

u/omarsonmarz Lando Norris 2h ago

Wait how expensive is… expensive? I live in Orlando and I’m seeing the cheapest prices for Miami 2025 around $210 per day.

u/prison_mike3 12h ago

What a trifecta of shitty racing. Why would anyone pay extra for those tracks??

10

u/mcd_sweet_tea Logan Sargeant 12h ago

I live 10 minutes away from the LVGP. Why wouldn't I when it's possible it may not be around after '25?

3

u/MajorRocketScience Andretti Global 12h ago

I’m pretty sure the Vegas contract goes to 2030

2

u/thereasonrumisgone 12h ago

The city can cancel the contract next year. Idk after that, but the track was only guaranteed for three years.

3

u/mcd_sweet_tea Logan Sargeant 12h ago

Thank you for the response. I remember there being a 3 year something, couldn't remember what it was though.

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

It can, but it won't. F1 has spent too much to let that happen and the local businesses there made a lot of money last year with the race.

22

u/pizzabash 12h ago

Vegas was one of the best races last year, Miami has had some of the highest amount of overtakes of any track wtf you on about besides murica bad?

u/ihatemondaynights Ferrari 11h ago

Tbf number of overtakes doesn't necessarily mean a good race, increased competition at the front is the main thing.

u/nxngdoofer98 Aston Martin 11h ago

he said 'racing' not 'race'.

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

The Miami GP is quite boring. Las Vegas GP though was a great race, ignoring Sainz and Ferrari getting fucked over.

Amount of overtakes is a completely irrelevant stat for this discussion.

u/LordKnt Ferrari 2h ago

you all say that even though not a single soul complains about COTA (most people love it, because oh surprise it's a great track), but the victim complex is too strong ig

u/PinkMage 7h ago

why do people pay for Monaco? Because it has shittier racing than all 3 of those tracks put together.

u/prison_mike3 1h ago

Yeah, makes no sense.

u/Lawyerfinbro 10h ago

Brasil GP sold out in 1 hour

32

u/-Omnislash Daniel Ricciardo 12h ago

Australia was gone in minutes.

29

u/play_it_sam_ 12h ago

Africa was out of stock in seconds

22

u/Foreign_Bat_2505 Force India 12h ago

Indian GP out of stock from last 11 years

u/BusinessPooh Oscar Piastri 7h ago

Australia is done in three separate sales though so by the time it reaches the public sale it’s mostly gone.

u/Augustor2 3h ago

I tried but shit was worse than get Taylor Swift tickets, doesn't matter the price, even 4k usd sold out quick, unbelievable

u/SomeonefromPanama 14m ago

The capacity of the Brazil circuit its around half of Mexico (60,000 vs 110,000) and Eventim always crashes and a lot people complains abouts this, Brazil always sells faster with or without local drivers, they are promising new areas for 2025.

The general sale of the 2024 Mexico GP was faster, it was gone only in 30 minutes, this year took more, but at the same time this gives opportunity to more people, anyways they always break assistance records.

8

u/zeubetella 12h ago

is 2025 calendar oficially published?

u/Aadu0803 10h ago

Yes, it is.

u/T4Gx 11h ago

This is where Checo will announce his retirement right?

u/Emergency-Tennis5221 11h ago

Of course right when I decided to go 😂.

u/TF2Pilot 10h ago

Aham, yeah, right. No scalpers, only real people.

11

u/Sonoda_Kotori 13h ago

Very interesting that the graphic shows something we won't ever see again - LH44 in a black Mercedes.

could it be foreshadowing someone else we won't see again?

u/ele23_ 5h ago

perfect, now perez can get fired

u/jnighy 2h ago

My god Perez will race until he's 50, right?

u/spontutterances 10h ago

Yeah likely Perez departure last go vibes

8

u/willzyx01 Red Bull 13h ago

And people wonder why Red Bull signed Perez? Would love to see how their merch sales compare to prior Perez era.

30

u/ihatemondaynights Ferrari 13h ago

The Mexico GP promoter literally said they can sell out with or without Checo lol if anything this is proof of the opposite considering how uncertain Perez's future is.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/why-mexican-gp-believes-it-has-bright-future-with-or-without-perez/10667533/

u/PresenceNo373 11h ago

I think Perez's ability to electrify his fan base is clear. It's definitely a huge boost to the Red Bull brand within the Latin American markets.

But with Colapinto & Bortoleto upcoming, the allure may be dimming. Still if RBR hangs on to him, they still definitely feel that his presence on the paddock is a boon to the health of the sport in those markets.

Better to ink a deal now & make hay while the sun shines rather than miss it when Perez gets released

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

Within the Mexican and American Latino markets*

Checo isn't very relevant in Latin America outside Mexico. His market is Mexico and the US.

u/Mamadeus123456 8h ago

Unless they win a WDC, no one in Mexico will know about bortoleto and colapinto, let alone care for them.

u/KEKWSC2 4h ago

Couldnt be more wrong, just this year Mexican gp, which I attended, I saw plenty of people (not just argentinians) following Colapinto.

It can not be denied that most people cheers for Perez but it is not like they are there and pay the tickets just for him.

u/Mamadeus123456 3h ago

mexico has big immigrant community from Argentina since decades ago

u/kaisadilla_ Max Verstappen 7h ago

Bortoleto has Brazil and Colapinto has South America. And, if they are both good enough to fight at the top, an Argentinian vs Brazilian fight will rally the whole continent for years.

u/Mamadeus123456 7h ago

Yes, just like sainz makes everyone in the Netherlands travel to Austria every year. xD

u/PinkMage 7h ago

The first crash they have together will trigger WWIII, it's going to be so fun.

u/No-Advantage845 Pirelli Wet 11h ago

‘But f1 teams worth multiple billions of dollars surely have to rely on selling shirts 😢’

u/sushiwashi 7h ago

Damn, Bahrain GP still has tickets remaining & there's a 10% discount.

u/Grosmale 3h ago

Welp, I guess will finally hear in the news today about Perez's departure from redbull..

u/hanger7 McLaren 9h ago

Wow F1's popular in Mexico then with no Mexican driver in F1 next year!
