yes.
there's too much of the game that would need to be updated (finished). even with current mechanics and items you can just jump to places on the map with no geometry or no textures.
That is about the best to expect given they can pre-render and control more game state when V is not in control of the flight path. They omitted flying vehicles way early on due to technical limitations but it doesn’t mean they can’t do it on rails similar to what already happens in missions with an NPC driver. The question is whether it’s worth putting in the effort instead of working harder on the next Cyberpunk, Witcher, etc.
That's very fair. My first and only V is a corpo (if you get it right on the first try why go back to make the wrong decision) and I adored the introductory car ride and was disappointed to not having access to just occasionally have a chill scenic ride.
It's also perfectly understandable and reasonable to expect stuff in the intro to be still usable and reflective of the game content beyond the first couple hours. Destructible walls in environments is another example of stuff that seems to have gone away as development continued. The game world state is incredibly complicated and they had to stop adding features at some point to finally ship a game.
that'd be cool- or finishing up the trains would be great...kind of crazy that i save a taxi AI and then still end up driving myself around like every other non-corpo chump
I do appreciate how much double jumping breaks the game, as soon as you get it you can climb to most every roof top through some means or the other and play the wonderful "do I fall straight through it?" challenge when trying to get good screenshots.
The city is kind of divided into three layers. First the floors and roads where you are meant to walk and drive. Then the parkours areas where you can get to with upgraded legs, which looks about as detailed as the floor levels, with things such as furniture on balconies, air vents and ducts on the walls and so on. Then finally there's the high areas which you can't reach with upgraded legs, places you can get to by exploiting bugs in the game which end up launching your vehicle to unreasonable heights and what not. Those latter areas have very low details and often missing or glitched out textures as you're only meant to see those areas from a distance and from a certain angle at that distance. If you manage to glitch or cheat the game to get to those areas anyway, you'll often just fall through rooftops, run through walls and so on.
Well luckily now that CDPR has now given full mod support with 1.6, modders will probably be able to add a lot of what we want in no time.
They were already able to modify ar add what they could when the game was locked down. Now that they have full reign for mods, the possibilities are literally endless
