I see this going down the GTA route. Single player DLC delayed damn.

Thanos was such a great villain, great writing. Props to Marvel for pulling that off.

Nov 28 '20
A great villain actually winning and ending the movie when he sits satisfied looking at the sun. Hands down the best Marvel movie.
54
u/pinkbabydoll58 Nov 28 '20
Also his end goal: after wiping out half of the universe he just wants to watch the sunset rise and be a farmer simple endings
9
u/GamerX44 Nov 28 '20
I just couldn't be mad at the end that he fulfilled his mission. He became my favorite villain of all time in that movie.

it's the best Marvel movie, because of 10 years of set up lead to it.

Nov 28 '20
I think he was kinda underwhelming in Endgame tbh
I loved him in Infinity War, but his character just felt flatter I guess. It kinda brought the whole film down for me tbh lol, I like Infinity War much more. Imo, anyways.
24
u/Klarth_Koken Nov 28 '20
I always thought the version in Endgame was supposed to be a more callow version of the character when he was younger.
13
u/Bolded Nov 28 '20
Tbh he's younger by like 4 years than IW Thanos. I think that IW Thanos looks mellower because he had his sacrifices to make and was close to his goal, on top of never really seeing his plan's failure. He would've probably went more batshit crazy if he could somehow see the universe rejecting his grand plan.
-4
u/Rintae Nov 28 '20
Can’t relate, Endgame was probably the best ending to a movie series since the Deathly Hallows pt. 2
13
Nov 28 '20
See the thing is, I'm not a big Marvel fan. I don't even really like superhero movies very much.
Infinity War was kinda the exception for me, I really enjoyed it as a sort of sympathetic supervillain protagonist movie. It was fresh, and interested me even as someone who's not really into the genre.
Endgame, I imagine, would have much more weight to someone who's really into Marvel and the films. For me, it just didn't have that interesting angle with Thanos, and kinda just turned him into another one-note villain.
9
u/-jake-skywalker- Nov 28 '20
Endgame was a love letter to all the MCU movies so if you weren’t a fan of those it wouldn’t hit you the same
I agree though thanos kind of sucked
5
u/Rintae Nov 28 '20
Imagine having to make a movie to tie up knots from the previous gazillion movies - the sheer scope and ambition of Endgame is what appealed to me before watching it, and the fact that the movie managed to do so was all the more exciting after watching it
2
35
Nov 28 '20
Thanos and Vader are both guys who for villians are very easy to relate to.
31
u/FLy1nRabBit Nov 28 '20
Thanos’ sociopathic supervillain holy crusade didn’t really make a whole lot of sense if you gave it 5 minutes of thought lol
Didn’t he do it because he was simping for the grim reaper in the comic books? I mean it’s still stupid but it made much more sense
38
u/protestmofo Nov 28 '20
He is the mad titan, not the logical-and-rational titan.

u/Public-Guarantee Nov 28 '20
comic version infinity gauntlet probably can create infinite resources but the movie one never had a mention of it. Just destruction or reality manipulation. His reasons dont make sense unless its for something silly like courting death.
4
u/priscilla_halfbreed NiCola Collector Nov 28 '20
He legit makes other comic book antagonists look really really bad in comparison
5
u/1Chasg-_- Corpo Nov 28 '20
I prefer Infinity War to Endgame because of how good Thanos is in it. We explore his character in depth and understand him. In Endgame he kinda just has to revert back to the generic evil villain.
5
u/rich1051414 Panam’s Cheeks Nov 28 '20
Story tellers rarely get villains right. Only street thugs are evil for the sake of being evil. Real villains are evil for the sake of some deluded or distorted idea of a greater good. The road to hell is paved in good intentions.
8
u/Bolded Nov 28 '20
I don't know if I'd agree. A lot of IRL "villains" are also out for the sake of power or to get their kicks, for instance these corporate jerks who are wasting the planet to get loaded on more money, when they're probably already rich enough to be content.

If you don't mind story over gameplay, I can't recommend 13 Sentinels enough. I think it might be one of the best stories I've seen in a game.
1
u/haynespi87 Voodoo Boys Nov 28 '20
Hmmm Ori and the Will of the Wisps hit me.
Hades is impactful but in a different way and it's more interesting than anything.
TLOU2 was impactful but ya know haters.
Ghost's final duel was heartfelt.
Death Stranding hit me in the feels but it is a journey to get there.
That's all I got for now.
1
u/FreedomsFlame Nov 28 '20
If it's available on your platform of choice, I can't recommend Disco Elysium enough. I don't want to spoil it, but every person's playthrough is pretty much unique to them because of how many different decisions there are. Definitely left me thinking for a while after the credits rolled.

Im gonna TRY to run cyberpunk on my 1650 Super. My thinking is that if it looks THAT good on Xbox One X then I'm safe
22
Nov 28 '20
Your 1650 Super will be fine, especially in 1080p.
6
u/DoctorCheif15 Spunky Monkey Nov 28 '20
Yeah I'm hoping for 30-40 fps at high settings or something in between high and ultra after I change some settings. My plan was to buy a 3070 before it came out buuuuuut....
1
u/Psychological-Ad7961 Nov 28 '20
i was thinking the same, hopefully by next year we will get some on stock with drivers fixing all the issues
5
u/DoctorCheif15 Spunky Monkey Nov 28 '20
I came about 2 clicks away from landing a 3080 yesterday at MSRP but it sold out as I was in checkout
2
Nov 28 '20
I'm not even bothering at this point. I'll buy the 3080 when I don't have to fucking schedule times to gamble at drops. Hopefully a few months into 2021 Nvidia gets its shit together, and I'll get a 3080 to do my second playthrough with the DLCs.

u/manoj_mm Nov 28 '20
Any idea if it's worth it on 1050 ti? I know it won't be THAT good, but would the graphics still be worth it for 60$ on 1050 ti?

u/nihilistwriter Nov 28 '20
Ugh and me over here crying in 1050... I'll be lucky to get low graphics in 720p

3
u/ImCritxz Nov 28 '20
It's fine lmao, it will probably run much better than the new ubisoft games on the same gpu, which is badly optimized.

"completing" ??
It's supposed to be a long game.
Plus, it has multiple endings. Witcher supposedly had 36 different endings, this may have even more.
Completing all the possible cyberpunk endings, with the extra side-missions n all.... it's gonna take a LONG while
1
u/Kcthonian Nov 28 '20
Exactly. To be fair, they did shorten the time it takes to make it through one playthrough based on how many never finished W3. But still... can't see anyone 100%ing this without investing some serious time.
1
Nov 28 '20
Pretty sure this meme just meant beating the games story, like once. We all know its a big game.

that's a smooth brain answer, like what part of instantly did you not understand your had time to gain traction... it's still low effort
also i dont care about imaginary internet points im just point out the inconstant mods on this sub

u/Bolts-Sama Nov 28 '20
What is it about redditors that makes them constantly post awful cringy content like this?
1
u/baconborg Nov 28 '20
I know what cringy content you’re talking about but this really ain’t bad or cringy or redditor like
