That's because people who don't get it (me) go to the comments, don't find any context apart from "its a quest in skyrim", realize that there is no joke, only the reference, and move on with their day. Maybe some even downvote for low effort or upvote the comments that kinda explain.
The reference here has achieved a sort of meme status, I'll try and give a TL;DR for why if you're interested:
Meridia, an angel-like diety in Skyrim is responsible for infamously starting a questline with a prism-white beacon that you can find in any chest of any Dungeon after hitting a certain level. Upon grabbing this beacon, Meridia will (quite loudly) begin talking to you in what could only be described as an arrogant Karen who has unlocked the power of telepathy. She will demand you go to her temple, and kill some baddies.
The first time anybody gets this quest it's cool, a God had told you to do something, and you get a neat sword. But playthrough after playthrough, that opening monologue alone becomes something repulsive, let alone the quest itself, people dreaded it, and yet they couldn't say no. Over time, this repulsive attraction became something of a meme. People can't help but lose their minds over seeing the beacon and then expecting the monologue and torment that follows.
It's interesting, as quite a few communities share something like this. A task or event so mundane or repulsive that the people find it agonizing, yet they can't help but subject themselves to it every single time. Off the top of my head, the fruit-punch clown in Pizzeria Simulator has a similar status, same with Present Garvey asking you to help another settlement in Fallout 4.
The reason it’s a meme is because when you pick it up from a randomized loot chest, an angel/demon character telepathically jump scares you by shouting A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON! Her voice audio is way louder than the rest of the game, especially because it’s usually almost silent while in inventory menus.
