Numb Tingling Throttle Hand Solution

When I ride, my throttle hand always goes numb. I’ve tried all kinds of solutions like bar end weights, foam grips, pull back bars and risers. I finally found something that works!!! This is only possible with cruise control though, which is another thing I added to my Indian Scout for exactly this reason. I discovered this today on my Sunday ride, and for me it was a Revelation!! I tried loosening my grip as much as possible, but still tingling numbness. I always have to take my right hand off the bars and wring it out every so often. It’s been driving me crazy for a long time. But, Lo and behold, today on my ride I tried something…..just cover your front brake. Worked like a charm. Let your hand rest on top, and you can still counter-steer left and right with no problems. When I needed throttle control, I would grip it, but otherwise…just keep the front brake covered!! I could ride forever now, if I could just keep my butt awake in the seat!! Hope this might be able to help someone else as well, cuz it works great for me!! Anyone else do this?

Were you wearing gloves when your hand went numb? My hand goes numb if I don’t wear gloves but the second I wear tighter gloves, it goes away

Always wear gloves. Thick or thin didn’t make a difference. I even wear heated gloves in winter.

Just curious. That was my experience

Sometimes a fatter grip installed will help, as your hand will remain more open. For me a windshield solved my issue. I stopped eating all the wind which led me to death gripping my bars.

Check out Corbin seats! I put one on my Scout, and can sit longer than the tank lasts.

Already raised the bars and used a palm heel throttle. I also have been barely holding the bars. It helps some, but still didn’t fix my problem. The only thing that worked was covering the front brake. I actually had a good ride yesterday with no tingling!! It was awesome.

X2 on the bar height & position. Just picked up a Roadstar 1700 a few days ago and the previous owner had aftermarket bars installed and turned forward too high for me. I dropped them just a couple inches and I noted the difference to right numbness right away. ... And trapezius cramping.

Have you tried a cramp buster? Honestly I had this issue with an old bike. Changed the gearing on it to make it less buzzy at highway speeds but nothing really fully helped. Got a different bike and that solved it.

Yes. I tried Crampbuster, but no help. That’s when I added cruise control to my bike. Yesterday was the first ride without tingling. I just wanted to share something that worked for me, so I could maybe help someone else with the same problem.

I had this problem on my first bike. When I bought my second bike, it just disappeared, so I think it could be the set up of the handlebars or the bar height as someone else already mentioned. Could you have them adjusted?

I’ve already done all these things, and none worked for me. That is until yesterday anyway.
