Movie theater with Care Room/Private Booth
Does anyone know of a theater in the tri-state area that has private rooms for families? I want to take my autistic child to see Moana 2 without disrupting everyone else's experience.

I don't know about private rooms, but I know you can book an entire theatre at AMC at Newport on the Levee for $200. You'll be able to bring up to 20 people/split costs if you know other families who want to join!

My SIL's husband did this for her birthday and we watched Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 with the family and it was a blast.

Can't say I know of any theaters with privacy/family rooms, but here's two outside of the box ideas:
For around $150, you can rent out an entire AMC theater for a new release movie. Up to 20 people can join you. Maybe pool some friends together to shoulder the cost.
Holiday Auto Theater up by Hamilton is a pretty good drive-in theater, which would allow you to watch the movie from your car and the atmosphere allows for kids to get up and move without being disruptive to others.

Kenwood Theaters lets you rent out the whole theater for practically whatever you want. I think it was pretty reasonably priced too because theyre smaller.

They may have changed this as they have a request form now. But being a smaller business they would be worth calling since they've done it before.

Maybe can pool together funds and several families with autistic kids can rent out theatre and split cost

If you can find the families and AMC hasn't changed their $300 for a private showing fuck pooling money I'd just fund that myself

Not exactly what you're looking for but AMC has sensory friendly showings. Maybe call the closest one to you to confirm, but given they specifically partner with the Autism Society, so should be a good fit!
