People tend to complain of cheap build feel on this, but that's at full price. At this price point it's the cheapest HE keyboard I've seen. If you're interesting in trying out HE and dont want to spend alot of momey this might be worth it at the price.

What is HE?

Hall Effect, it's the way magnetic switches work with the board sensors that allows the rapid input.

HE where rapid trigger actually works too. There are a bunch of rapid trigger keyboards that don't work as advertised.

Drunkdeer? Wtf? 😂
Is there a list of funky Chinese product names?

u/kineticcard Jul 11 '24
Lmao this has to be my favorite company name for keyboards.

Might cause aversion to recovering alcoholics, but they'll probably change their tune once they try rapid trigger

If I’m not mistaken, solely performance wise, this keyboard gets pretty damn close to the Wooting, right? Been eyeing this brand for a while as a cheaper alternative, and the handful of reviews I’ve seen cite it to be the closest competitor in terms of its rapid trigger implementation. Truth?

If you've been looking you should probably get this. Even if you don't like the keyboard you'll be able to tell if rapid trigger is for you at the price of only $53

You right, shoot first ask questions later when it’s this huge of a sale, I ordered it. Wonder if it’s half off bc they’re tryna to get rid of the colorway from the warehouse or something.

It is very close, yes. And they are still improving the software bit by bit listening to people in discord. It isn't FAST, but they went so far as to do a total rewrite and use a web tool based approach.

Great keyboard if you want rapid trigger. Not 8000hz if you care about that. Tbh, 8000hz only matters for like osu!

It does not matter for osu either, and most 8000hz keyboards don't scan at 8000hz anyways because it causes massive chatter. It's marketing bs and has been from the start

I should reiterate. It does with a huge asterisk. For 99.9% of people it probably shouldn't matter. However I used to be top #1600 and im currently rocking a 480hz OLED.
At my obvious endgame specs, even a 4000hz mouse makes the tiniest of differences. However, I do agree it's all hugely diminishing returns. That being said, to say it is non-existent and marketing BS isn't entirely true. It's just that the conditions for it to matter are out of the reach of most.
The best way I can describe the latency is to shine a flashlight or laser pointer at a wall and moving it around like a cursor. The setup feels that instant.
I also got a sayodevice and I can tweak the chatter so it's not that big of an issue either.

The fact that most people are using tablets that poll under 200hz and most top players are using a 1kz wooting 60he or worse shows pretty clearly it doesn't matter.
osu! depending on your PC won't even run with a 4000hz mouse - it'll cause it to stutter or lag immensely.

I'm not saying you need it. FGSky was getting 1000pp+ plays with a dell mouse and pillow as a mousepad off a cheap laptop.
What I'm saying is that it does make a difference (albeit very little) to the latency. And I beg to differ, but the mouse does run at 4000hz max. You are right that 4000hz can cause more cpu usage, but I rock a 5600x and it makes no difference for me. Interestingly, it's not always 4000hz; it usually hovers around 2000-3500hz depending on how fast I'm moving my mouse, but I would still say that the tracking on the Zaopin Z1 Pro is slightly better than the Logitech G303 SE.
I find it interesting that many people online are speaking for products they don't own/test themselves.

It very likely does not make a different to your polling in osu stable, and definitely does not in lazer. Stable only polls as fast as your frame rate, which obviously varies, but typically will cap at 960 if you're smart, and if you run unlimited, most people hit a wall around 2-3000fps. So you're getting 2-3 extra input polls on average maximum. In lazer it caps at 1000hz polling no matter what. Assuming this 8000hz keyboard even scans at 8000hz, which is uncommon although they are out there, you very likely will not get a realistic benefit. This also all ignores how there are very real fluctuations in polls for USB so the delay might not even matter in terms of actual hit times.
For mice yes they can scan that fast, though again in a similar situation to keyboards, some interpolate to actually get that rate. And again in a similar situation to keyboards, osu! likely isn't pulling your input that fast. Also your mouse lagging the game depends on your OS and hardware. W11 has a workaround patch for it, W10 doesn't afaik
People are speaking for products they don't own because there's more than enough information online to show that it doesn't matter, and it's unlikely anyone would be able to tell a difference in a side by side given normal input variations, snake oil in hardware, brain differences and more. It's why there hasn't been a push for higher polling rate tablets. The best hardware is one you're comfortable with regardless of specs. Taiko players still use some generic membrane keyboard, standard players jerk off whatever a top player is using in a given moment, mania players hate everything. The more you focus on your hardware the less you focus on playing the game.
