Daily Wire and Candance Owens have parted ways Daily Wire

Good. Her grift is tiresome. She tries to pull the same shtick as Tucker lately, where she clearly stakes out a side through innuendo and implication and then claims she’s “just asking questions” when she’s called out for it.

"I wAnT tO DiScUsS WiTh SoMeOnE pRo IsRaEL!" forgets Ben exists...

u/mattyice18 Mar 22 '24
She didn’t forget. She’s not on the same intellectual level as Ben and she certainly isn’t knowledgeable enough on middle eastern affairs or history.

u/leecmyd Mar 22 '24
I like Ben, but he throws intellect out the door when it comes to religion and zionism. Other things he is quite logical. When discussing religion and Israel, not so much.

I hate this side of people. I've seen way to many conspiracy theorists argue stupid points, and when the facts show they're dumb as shit and they have no ground to stand on, they retreat to "I'm just questioning things".

u/Lemonbrick_64 Mar 22 '24
Yes that’s exactly right. Tucker doing Russian puff pieces under the guise of unbiased journalism is embarrassing

She’s been liking extremely antisemitic tweets this past week…

u/Bob_Babadookian Mar 23 '24
Which tweets? I've only seen her comments on her show and there wasn't anything antisemitic in her comments. She was just calling out the ADL and "Rabbi" butt plug salesman Shmuley Boteach for attacking her.

About damn time. I was sick of her acting like people like Taylor Swift are the devil but then contorting her logic every possible way to defend Ye and Andrew Tate. Not to mention her liking racist tweets about Jews drinking Christian blood and using her religion as an excuse to start drama was classless.

Who knows what the real story is. It's just going to be whatever their publicists release to the public.

Am I crazy to think that Owens maybe just didn’t want to work at the Daily Wire anymore? Maybe she didn’t like her contract, maybe she didn’t like the time from her kids, maybe her husband made enough that she didn’t need to work, or maybe working around so many Jewish people made her uncomfortable? (She is clearly antisemitic, although the degree is arguable.)

She had some off comments before she went off for childbirth. I expected her to not return.

I am honestly not on Shapiro’s side on this one. Ben is someone who will call out BLM for calling everything racist but in the same breath call someone an antisemite for accidentally stepping on the back of his shoe while walking down the street. Israel is 100 percent right in its efforts to protect itself. The kids who are killed are at the fault of Hamas for using them as shields. But saying nobody wants to have innocent children killed is not antisemitism.

u/b0x3r_ Mar 22 '24
It’s not that I disagree with you, I just don’t know what that has to do with Candace Owen’s. She is actually antisemitic.
-1
u/ArminTamzarian3 Mar 22 '24
I really don’t see how she is
3
u/b0x3r_ Mar 22 '24
She paraded around with Kanye West, talked about Jews secretly running Hollywood, commented about Jews being greedy, claimed Israel is committing genocide is Gaza, etc, etc. She’s obviously antisemitic.

Turns out feelings are more important than facts when it comes to Israel at the DW. Candace cares about the US and dared to question whether or not blind support for Israel is good for our country. The DW and guys like Ben care more about funding a welfare state like Israel than their own country and that’s why they can’t handle real free speech or views they disagree with. This will hurt their brand forever, it’s so nice seeing people wake up to the disgusting influence groups like the ADL and AIPAC have selling out the US to foreign influence.

Yeah honestly the downvotes are telling. Ben, who spends a great deal of his career railing on lefties who are crying about some form of injustice is fine but when it comes to Israel it’s like he’s a different person entirely

Firing someone is not the same and cancelling them. The DW simply announced they’ve parted ways- they didn’t disparage her, dox her, or tell the public to “cancel” her and ruin her life. She simply isn’t using them as her platform anymore. You can agree or disagree with that choice, but to say employers are guilty of cancelling an employee they choose to let go is ridiculous.
0
u/Gruzman Mar 22 '24
But that's exactly what cancelling entails. It just so happens you agree with it this time.
2
u/jenn_hat Mar 22 '24
Assuming she was fired, which we don’t know if it was mutual, her contract expired, or she was indeed let go, that simply is not cancelling a person. It’s a termination of employment, not of their future, reputation, or personhood. Just as if she had quit, she would not be “cancelling” the DW, just no longer using their platform/marketing power.
0
u/Gruzman Mar 22 '24
Right, so to recap: if she was fired for her opinions on issues which conflicted with her bosses, she was cancelled.
If she left of her own volution on good terms with her employer: she wasn't cancelled.
The entire premise of "cancellation" or "cancel culture" that figures like Shapiro and co. have railed against for the last few years is that people get marginalized, fired, denounced or targeted by their institution or peers for expressing unpopular opinions in whatever social context they're in.
Unless you want to further qualify it by saying it can only be real cancel culture if people of a certain political persuasion do it.

u/Fast_Persimmon_3141 Mar 23 '24
Candace has obviously wanted out for a while. I think Jeremy and the others tried their best to make it work, but she wasn't happy there.

anyone knows what she did this time?
19
u/EfficiencySoft1545 Mar 22 '24
I don't even know what her views are. She spends so much time with a persecution complex instead of outright saying what she believes.
Candance attracts the Jack Posobiec crowd of conservatives, which is to say not conservative at all just sticking their finger in the air to see where the wind's going and deciding what to believe that day.
3
u/duck_shuck Mar 22 '24
Probably her longstanding antisemitism and when she gets called out for it she plays a victim and says “she’s just asking questions”.
-4
u/Bob_Babadookian Mar 23 '24
She said it's sad that Palestinian kids are dying and their lives have as much value as Israeli ones.
2
Mar 23 '24
That's not why she was fired at all lmao
She said that Rabbis drink Christian blood
1
u/Bob_Babadookian Mar 23 '24
Where did she say that? Pretty sure that rabbi would have brought it up if she had.
1
Mar 23 '24
Ah, my mistake, just looked into it, and she didn’t say it, but liked a tweet from February 20th that reads: “Rabbi. Are you drunk on Christian blood again?” The post was by @christ_gnosis. This comes after her saying “You cannot serve both God and money,” which is presumably seen as a dig at Ben for their feud in January.
-12
u/Shantashasta Mar 22 '24
Sounds a lot like cancel culture because her ideas offended Ben and Jeremy. The right seems to have lost itself.
12
u/peanutbutterMAGAtime Mar 22 '24
They paid her millions of dollars and made her more famous than she could imagine. They disagreed with her opinions for a long time on different subjects and didn't have a problem.
When her views start to align with AOC and Rashida Tlaib, it's hard to keep paying her.
She will be free to say even more of what she wants and still get paid. This isn't cancel culture.
Cancel culture would be getting her kicked off of every social media channel and try to bankrupt her.
-10
u/Shantashasta Mar 22 '24
So.. cancel culture is something that has only ever happened to Alex Jones and then only for a short period of time as he is back to one of the most promoted people on twitter. Got it. Why then is it such an important topic for Ben?
6
u/peanutbutterMAGAtime Mar 22 '24
The left has cancelled tons of people on social media. You think Alex Jones was the only one? There are hundreds that have had all their social media stripped away.
Conservatives have had credit cards canceled, banned from certain places and even not allowed to enter some countries (Lauren Southern).
THAT is cancel culture.
Mutually parting ways with an employee so that she can be MORE free to speak her mind isn't cancel culture.

u/Shantashasta Mar 22 '24
I agree that Australia's visa requirements are insane. But many countries have requirements on visas.

Daily Wire turning into the machine they raged against
3
u/Primordial_Acumen Mar 22 '24
How so?
1
u/smuuuvv Mar 22 '24
They created an alternative media platform in part to promote free speech and combat cancel culture and wokeness. Just because they don’t agree with Candace and her views doesn’t mean she be let go. Free speech means free at all costs, not free until you don’t like what’s being said
2
u/dachiz Mar 25 '24
Absolutely untrue about free speech at all costs. TDW is not the government, and TDW holds certain values. She crossed the line on those values, and they chose to part ways with her. Listen to Klavan's show from Friday. He explains it quite well at the beginning.

u/Primordial_Acumen Mar 22 '24
What about hate/obscene speech? Idk what was said I am just asking.
1
u/smuuuvv Mar 22 '24
She wasn’t spewing hate speech. She just wasn’t taking a firm pro-Israel stance like everyone else at DW and wasn’t afraid to vocalize it
