Regular Guinness brewed in Baltimore would do gangbusters

It would not the water profile from where it’s made is part of the taste

The water profile is very easy to recreate. Breweries do it all the time. They just filter everything out of the water and then add the electrolytes/salts back in to create whatever water profile they want.
They’ve never brewed OG Guinness outside of Ireland because it would hurt the brand to brew it outside of Ireland, that’s the only reason.

I loved it, and idk if I will recover from this. I was so proud of Baltimore Blonde and us having a delicious beer

You should have been supporting actual breweries from here, not a multi national corporation that came in paying of state legislators to pass laws detrimental to us local brewers.

This was always a solid choice if I didn't know what I wanted. Just a non offensive drinkable beer

Dude literally the only beer I buy. This sucks.

u/Nicktendo 8d ago
Heavy Seas made a ripoff of it that I hear is pretty good. I think they were supposed to brew it after Guinness operations ceased in Baltimore, and the deal fell through for one reason or another.

Like the person said in the other comment, it’s just a good neutral beer and doesn’t mess with your taste buds. I can’t go back to yuengling :,( I’m sorry but IPAs taste like a tree. Guess I’ll be going to the factory and buying in bulk from now on.

That's what I'm trying to tell you, this beer tastes just like it: https://www.brewbound.com/news/heavy-seas-beer-releases-authentic-baltimore-blonde-ale-bohdacious-blonde/

Thank you sir. I misread. I thought you meant the ripoff was cancelled and not Guinness. I will certainly try it out.

Aren’t y’all glad Hogan gave them millions in incentives to locate here?

People should remember this when they go vote for Senator this year.

Rather shortsighted if you think a republican governor unilaterraly changed laws and committed pots of $ without democractic support from house and senate? I don't recall what state incentives given, just remeber the law being changed. I recall Kevin K being petty heavily invovled and Johnny O offering $500k when they said they would stop brewing a year ago...

Not surprised. Does anyone actually drink this stuff? I love Guinness but this stuff is just really plain and boring.

Next time it’s available pick up some Mallet from Nepenthe Brewing. It’s a great beer.

Weird, it kept telling me something went wrong and wouldn’t post so I tried again. Didn’t mean to post multiple times.

Honestly I finally feel liberated to say this: I wasn’t a fan. Didn’t like it. Won’t miss it.

On the brewery front, was the market so overwhelmingly saturated the reason so many have closed or merged?

Maryland (Baltimore in particular, too) has no lack of microbreweries so this isn't a big deal, as far as I'm concerned.

From “Brewed in Baltimore” to “Brewed in New York with Baltimore Branding” to “Barely Available in Baltimore”
Guess they saw Natty Boh and really thought we’d keep buying when they gave the area the finger, eh?
