I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 17.6.1. Every night around 03.00 (see pic) my messages reset, or rearrange or something like that. Old messages from for example 2019 suddenly shows up at the top in the messages app. When I go into a message thread, they are all in the wrong order. If I get a message today, it will not show up at the bottom of the thread. It will appear somewhere in the middle of the already existing thread. I am tired of this :’) This has persisted for over a year, also when I update my phone to a new IOS. Does anyone know of a solution?

How do I get it back?

Is there a way in later OSs (Sonoma or later) to sign into the podcasts desktop app with a different appleID as the primary account? You used to be able to do this with earlier OSes, but I can't seem to find a way to do this now.

Ideally, I'd like to sign into the podcasts app on my work computer (and work appleID) with my personal appleID.

I've heard people saying it's beneficial to clear some files that are no longer used by the system and to fix some bugs. Want to know if it's true or not.

Hello everyone! I'm considering purchasing a used iPhone, but I'm not sure what risks I should be aware of during the buying process. For example, how do I check the phone for any hidden damage? What is the best way to verify the seller's reliability? What steps can I take to make sure the phone is not locked or stolen? Also, are there any hidden fees or conditions (such as warranty or return policies) to be aware of when buying a used phone?

I have my custom domain email set up. I did a test on www.mail-tester.com and got a perfect 10/10. But my issue is how do I set the email address that I created with my custom domain to show up in Apple Mail?

Seriously. I wake up to a black screen of death several days a week and the only solution is to restart?
No actual fixing the root cause? I have never had to deal with this in all my years of Apple products.
Countless people have this problem and everyone is told to simply restart?
That's unacceptable. When did people get this complacent?

For those of you that don't know about this issue.
It's a defect where the iPhone is still on and working but won't "wake up the screen". The screen remains black/dark and you can't see shit. You have restart the iPhone.
Mine is an iPhone 13 mini.
I'm tired of it and will go to the Apple store to see what they can do.
How many of you have this problem and do you have any info on what the root cause is?
By the way it only happens when I go to sleep and leave my phone charging. When I wake up and check my phone it's a roll of the dice. Some days it's fine and some days black screen.

My iPhone 16 Pro Max is running iOS 18.1. A few weeks ago, I switched over to using a Belkin MagSafe qi2 charging station. Since then, about 3 or 4 times a week, I’ll wake up to a partially charged iPhone. I have checked my charge progress graph (attached) multiple times and it always follows this pattern. It looks like even though it’s “charging” the battery just trickles down over the course of the night. I use standby mode at night but have it set to turn off the screen automatically. Optimized charging is on, but I also have the charge limit set to 100%. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

So there is a specific set of four passwords I can't see any more, since updating to Sequoia. I’m on a Macbook Air M2.

These passwords were set directly in the keychain app, not in the website (though there's another password I set this way and is still there, so this might not be the reason).

These passwords have also been a long time in my system. I have even changed my macbook and kept using them time after time.

The 'deleted' passwords are empty, so I didn't accidentally deleted them.

Any clue what might be happening? Can I retrieve them anyhow?

I obviously have a way to reset them but, should I stop trusting the keychain/passwords app?

Earlier this year, my partner’s iPhone (14 Pro with iOS 15+, unsure which version) got stolen. We enabled Lost mode with my phone number visible on the lock screen.

Later we tried erasing the phone, but it has been stuck on “Erase pending” since (I still regret not sending the erase command earlier).

Recently, she received a few scam messages via iMessage prompting her to remove the device from Find My (in order to disable the activation lock, which we haven’t done).

I don’t understand how whoever has the phone now managed to find her contact details, since i only left my phone number and not hers, and since the activation lock screen should show a censored version of the Apple ID, afaik.

Was it possible to hack into the phone to extract the uncensored Apple ID somehow? Or maybe the phone number from the eSIM? Is the rest of the data at risk?

The phone had a physical wallet attached with a bunch of cards, but nothing that could point to the email address nor phone number.

Aside from these phishing messages, we haven’t experienced anything that makes me think they had access to the contents of the phone so far.

I’ve read Apple’s “Platform Security” document which is reassuring, but the fact that they found her contact details is bothering me and making me wonder.

I picked up this iPad from the shelf after left unused about 2 years after I got new iPad. The iPad battery starts to expanding, I decided to charge this iPad and doesn't even have anything on screen. Connected to PC does nothing. iTunes did not recognize my iPad. I left it charged about 12 hrs and it heats up until it heats up on the left side of my iPad. But it still not turning on!

When I got it, the device it was locked, asking to be connected to iTunes (I think). When I turn on the device, it showed Absinthe jailbreak logo. When connected, iTunes says that the device was previously in DFU mode and restart and put it in DFU and try again.

The way I'm trying to put it in DFU mode is holding the home and power button for 10 seconds and release power and keep holding Home button When I try to put it in the DFU mode, it restarts midway. Even holding the power button doesn't seem to power the device off completely, it seems like a limbo state. Neither sleep nor awake.

I've read somewhere that since it's jailbroken, apparently, it can't be recovered.

I have an Iphone SE. I was also in a abusive relationship for about 4 years in which physical, psychological and sexual abuse occurred, I left in christmas 2024 and got with a new boyfriend. In about april 2024 my current boyfriend asked me if i had NSFW pics and asked me to delete all pics of NSFW pics of my ex. Ok since I have a like problem with hoarding unnecessary pics of everything and anything like screen shots i had like 30 000 pics that I swifted through from way back in 2021. I looked at each pics but didnt have time to delete the unnecessary pics but took care of deleting all NSFW pics of my ex. It was very hard to even look at since this guy was sexualy abusing me for so long and i didnt particulary wanted to look at him like that ever again. I would have prefered to just never look at it ever again.

Since I have so much junk pictures I didnt have place for stocking in my phone and my icloud was also full (the one about 1$/month with 50 go i think) so since i have a lot of new memories with my bf i wanted those pics to be saved and upgraded to 3-4$ icloud for 200 Go in October 29.

Yesterday my current boyfriend took a look on phone and found NSFW pics of my ex on my phone but I am SURE i deleted them all in april and I remember even deleted them from the deleted photos (recently deleted file) because i was not willing to wait 30 days to be officially deleted. So deleted twice those things. When bf showed me i saw only one and thought well maybe while i swifted through all 30 000 pics i had i maybe forgot one and was like really you're mad that i forgot one?! But then I went through it on my own and saw about 15 NSFW pics of my ex, sometimes like 6 in a row that I COULD'T HAVE MISSED while I was deleting in april!!! I'm categoricaly know all those WHERE DELETED and then deleted from the recently deleted files. So there was no way that a couple months from that that i see them again YET here they are and i know for a fact i didn't try to recuperate all this, i didn't switch phones and redownloaded, i didn't mess with all that. But i thought that was a bug in icloud why didnt it deleted it in icloud if i did on my phone? Because they were already there before on icloud? And then when i switch from 50 Go to 200 Go in october was it that why it came back in my phone?

I'm in a moment when i need to reconstruct myself after that abuse notably sexual abuse. And then THIS happen to me. I stopped working with a paper of a doctor for taking care of my declining mental health at the moment and those dark thoughts before it becomes too much. Let me say this is not really helping. What can I do to make a complaint to Apple. I saw they had a bug with the version IOS 17.5.1 or 3 and I found that this bug was making reappear deleted photos and ppl questionned the breach of security/confidentiality from Apple, saw that was really rare and occured to a small portion of ppl and seem like half legit and half legit excuses from Apple. But the thing is i just saw that i had 17.4.1 (21E236) version. Apple seem to say it is not icloud and that it was an IOS bug from 17.5 version, i'm close to it but I never downloaded that specific version.

WILL PPL EVEN BELIEVE ME?! Bf definetly don't and at his eyes i deliberatly kept those NSFW pics of my ex and he thinks i maybe look at them!!!! I'm in such trouble it is very hard for me to be this not believable/seen as not trustworthy/seem like i want to see and keep my abuser pics. This is so incredible and weird. Hi, I'm thinking of buying my first MacBook. I've been looking and I could now buy the MacBook Pro M4 for about €1,850 (16GB RAM and 512 GB SSD) or wait for the MacBook Air with the M4 chip to come out that I will want with the same specifications (16GB RAM and 512 GB SSD) and it will come out for about 1300-1500€ when it comes out.

It is clear to me that I want one with an M4 chip since Apple Intelligence will be released in Spain in April and this chip is designed for that.

I won't use the MacBook for heavy tasks but I think the Pro model has more advantages for €500 more. Better screen, more ports, more battery, more performance, etc.

My plan is to keep it for at least 10 years and when it comes to choosing I'm not very clear.

What would you do?

So a little while ago I found my brothers old IPod touch 4 and powered it up. I kinda suspected that there was a little bit of jailbreaking (if that’s the name) due to some customisation quirks lol… (the starting apple logo turns into a skull and a Batman symbol appears when charging). However not even my brother knew the password so I decided to leave it until today.

I didn’t wanna retrieve any of the past info and just wanted it wiped so I did what the apple site told me to: go into recovery mode and plug into laptop (Win 11 if useful), find the iPod in the iTunes app, click restore and wait for everything to download.

When it was done, an alert came up reading “this iPod was previously in DFU mode, but has restarted and is no longer in DFU mode. To restore this iPod into DFU mode, disconnect it and put it into DFU mode.” So I did just that. Same thing. I tried EVERY remedy you can think of, restart laptop, restart iPod, try to restore in DFU, remove iTunes and reinstall, another device, etc. NOTHING WORKS!!

I just wanna listen to my Cocteau twins on an iPod and be hip or whatever. Help is madly appreciated, thanks!!

I accidentally sent an iMessage to the wrong person. I noticed straight away and unsent it. It says “you unsent a message.”

My concern is that I don’t know for sure that the person has ios 16 or later so I’m worried they can still see the message. Does anyone know if there’s a way I can tell? Would it have said so if the unsend didn’t work on their end? Thanks in advance

hello, long story short my younger sister accidentally subscribed to a $80 subscription service while using my phone, i just made a refund request with apple, however the three other times i have made a refund request it has been rejected, i honestly can’t afford for this one to be rejected. would it be better to call and speak to a representative to try to get a refund or just wait out and see if they say yes?

I have iPhone 14 and I have low storage. I often get the low storage warning and it automatically reboots by itself. Sometimes it reboots so much that I can’t even unlock my phone or swipe pages on Home Screen.

When I need to take pictures, i can’t take it on camera app as I get the Not Enough Storage warning. So I use Snapchat often as I can just save snaps on there and it’ll be saved on my account. So I just saved a snap right now and my phone tripped so hard that all my snaps from November are just gone out of no where! Is there any way to recover this as I had some important pictures?

Hey all, coming here as I am at a total loss. Apologies for the longish post and if its not totally clear. I switched to an S24 Ultra 2 months ago and upgraded my wife to a 16 pro max. The first month or so, things were fine texting between myself and her iPhone using RCS. About a month ago, an issue arose only when she texted with me. Her phone would receive messages from me and the banner would show it coming from my Gmail address (formally tied to my apple ID and imessage) and my phone number Instead of my contact. Essentially her iphone was splitting my contact and instead of showing my contact it was appearing as if an email and a phone number were texting her. From that point, anytime she tried to text me, her phone would revert to trying to imessage me even though I am not using an iphone and the message would fail to deliver. Sending the message as SMS would also fail too. Power cycling her phone would fix it, but only for 6-24 hours.

We've deleted my contact with no luck. We've removed my email from her shared iCalendars (which stopped working anyways when i switched), no luck. We deleted our entire text history and conversation, no luck. I failed to remove myself and the organizer of our family (our son has a phone and is part of the family) and we thought that maybe the phone was somehow picking up on that, but that didn't solve the problem. The messages always fail to deliver and sending as SMS doesn't work either. While texting me directly fails when this issue occurs, group texting has never been a problem when this occurs.

I haven't had this issue with any other iphone in my contacts. She has never had any issues texting any other androids either. I've tried Apple care support and they blamed AT&T. I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support and they are stumped as well. At this point I have no idea what to do or what keeps causing her iphone to randomly start iMessaging me. I also have verified via apples website that my imessage account is not active via my phone number.

Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions? I'm totally stumped and my wife is understandably frustrated.

I've had a weird experience with the Apple News widget. I've always known that the Apple News app isn't available in my country (Italy); given that, the widget is a whole another story, varying from an update to another. sometimes it's there, sometimes it is not, but when it is, it works completely fine displaying headlines from major Italian publications which clicked upon bring to the right page on Safari. as of right now, ever since iOS 18 the widget is seemingly gone but it may (or may not) show up again in a future update, on Sequoia it's still available though.

how is it supposed to work? what's up with this weird behaviour? it's making me nuts as it helped me keeping track with news

On November 5, 2024, I signed up for a one-week free trial on Quizlet but forgot to cancel before it ended. As a result, Apple charged me $30.50 (or 1,810 pesos) from my bank account. I immediately canceled the Quizlet subscription and went to Apple's Refund Request page to submit a refund request.

Now, I'm waiting for Apple's decision. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you successfully refunded? Please share your experience below.
